Yeah he is!! I've seen Knepper once and he looks to be one of the kindest men on earth, i asked him for an autograph because i'm a very big fan of him and he smiled at me and said "Hey, of course!". It creeped me out because i was used to think about him as a mad guy, such as t-bag and other characters he portrayed, but he's the opposite of that! Great actor... Btw my favorite character from Prison Break is Sucre. so much respect for that guy

Song fits perfectly with Theodores behavior in the series itself. Sometimes I wonder if there's anything tame-able in TBag.

I do t know why they gave him such a shitty ending after all his character growth durning the seasons some people just say that "he's a rapist and a piece of shit" but still he became so much more then that honestly I think linc was the worst character.
@myworldorder67538 жыл бұрын
Oh a I agree I like Michael a lot as well I was just saying that it was bullshit that in the end everyone who helped out got a pass on all their crimes and t bag just got "gum for the ride" lol. Especially since he was one of the better characters.
@andromedastar49008 жыл бұрын
Michael did have the inability to see things through the eyes of another person, unless perhaps if he was close to that person. He certainly felt very bad for Lincoln after what happened to him, and that is the basis of the entire story, he does everything for his brother. Your analysis about Michael is spot-on really. But when I said normal, I meant normal from a morality viewpoint, not necessarily how Michael was as a technical genius. Morally, he is the closest to what a real person would be like, so is Sucre and Sara. Characters like T-Bag and Mahone, Gretchen, they were stylized villains/anti-heroes with some redeeming qualities. As for T-Bag, the show really should have never made him a pedophile and rapist to begin with. I did notice that they spent most of the show not touching upon that at all, and in fact did more and more to move away from it after season 1. Even in season 1, during the second half of the season they moved away from that. I agree that it was just something they they tacked on in just to give the viewers a character to really hate and make them not care when other characters treat him badly. I think it would have been better if they had made him a prolific bank robber instead or someone who had murdered his parents, that way he starts out as a bad guy, a murderer, but as the series goes on, you sympathize with him. As for C-Note, well I never really liked him too much anyway, but yes he is a hypocrite there at the end, pretty much all the characters behaved that way around T-Bag.
@andromedastar49008 жыл бұрын
+Ed Eggsley True, it is indeed complete overkill. They just wanted to throw out every heinous crime out there and attribute it to the character, and it was completely unnecessary. A bank robber or ransomer who had killed kids during ransoms would have been enough to convey that he's a bad guy. Also, yes as a pedophile, he definitely would not be such a high profile prisoner. He wouldn't survive a day in gen pop, as other prisoners see them as the worst scum. So that part never made any sense, even though I don't think T-Bag was respected or well-liked in prison, he was actually hated by everyone other than his group of goons, the other gangs hated him, the mobsters treated him badly, while the guards were really cruel towards him too. But still, he did have a certain popularity, while I always found that to be silly. I understand that people weren't intimidated by him due to his physicality, but rather due to how clever and conniving he was, he wasn't the beat people up kind of guy, he was the get them to turn around and then stab them in the back kind of guy, he was good at mind games. You hit the nail right on, pretty much everything he did in prison, it was to get inside someone's head, it was to torment them psychologically/emotionally, not physically/sexually like the writers decided to tack on in addition. His games were really all mental. But as a bank robber or ransomer type criminal, it would make a lot of sense, someone who made a living doing those types of crimes would have to be psychologically manipulative as well as clever and sly, which he definitely was. As for the racist thing, I tend to believe that it was all just another survival mechanism for him. I don't think he was actually a racist himself. He just knew he needed to be in some sort of gang in order to survive in prison and not get beaten to a pulp, so he ingratiated himself and manipulated the white supremacists. Later, when he's in another prison (Sona), he ingratiated himself with Lechero's guys, it shows that he does what he does depending upon the situation. About C-Note, I found him to be a hypocrite a lot of the time, and his return to do what he did in season 4 was completely unnecessary. They should have just not had the character come back into the story at all. But during that season 1 fiasco, when T-Bag did make the racist comments to him, he never really seemed serious, he was just trying to provoke a reaction or maybe trying to badger C-Note off the escape team, because he was afraid he would be the first to get kicked off the group if there were too many, and indeed he was going to be kicked off, till he dealt with Abruzzi. I find it odd though that Michael and Lincoln didn't force him off the group, since the only leverage he had was that he would tell the guards about it, but would he really? All Linc and Sucre had to do was beat him up real bad and send him to the hospital, and he would have been off...but instead he keeps on the plan, and then later Michael and Linc spend the next three seasons feeling bad about allowing him to escape, and trying to get him sent back to prison again.
@myworldorder67538 жыл бұрын
Wow you know of all the comments I leave I didn't exactly expect this one to be the one that gets so many responses to start such a long thread lol. I mean I suppose it was a controversial enough topic but the videos isn't all that popular idk I love prison break so it's cool. :)
@andromedastar49008 жыл бұрын
+Ed Eggsley It would work, because he would still be a bad guy, who have lived his life with a certain amorality, not caring who he hurt because no one had ever cared about him, he could still be that dark character without the pedophile and rapist tag. And as I recall they did also throw in there that he was inbred, also unnecessary and to make him unrelatable on every level, they could have just said that he had very abusive parents, and it would have the effect of letting us know that he had a terrible childhood. I also noticed that the writers seemed to really want to backtrack from him being a sexual predator as the show went on. Hence, after season 1, it is rarely ever alluded to, except when they just throw it in there occasionally to remind, like the scene with the young girl at the motel by the pool, and when Michael threatens to tell Lechero about T-Bag's past crimes, or when he gets creepy with Sara. But it was clear to me that they wanted to distance themselves from the entire pedophile and rapist hole they had dug themselves into with the character. This was due to Robert Knepper being uncomfortable with playing such a character, and the writers not wanting to portray a character who does those types of crimes in a sympathetic light. I guess it seemed like a good idea to the writers at the beginning of the show, because they wanted to write a character that everyone would completely abhor, but then they changed their minds about it, and then they didn't want him to be that anymore, but they had already established it on his list of crimes early in the first season, so all they could do was just not mention it much anymore, then occasionally they would think they have to include something to allude to the first season, so they would throw in a scene or a line. Best for them if they had just not written it for the character in the first place, a sociopathic career criminal who in the past had not had qualms about pulling the trigger on children if they happened to be in the way would have been enough. As for why he was ever included in the escape plan, that is a good a really good point I had almost forgotten. Abruzzi could have easily killed him right then and there during the riot when he first found about the digging in Michael's cell. It was very silly that T-Bag made an empty threat that he would tell guards and other prisoners, when he really would not have the time to. There was the chaos of the riot going on around them, and if Abruzzi had shanked him right then and there, he would not be able to muster a single word. T-Bag never had any real leverage, and now thinking of that scene, it makes even less sense that he was allowed to be in on the plan. The show of course was full of that kind of silly stuff, it was very plot and action based, and it so it often had plot holes like that. It stayed pretty entertaining though till that 4th season, I agree. That season was just really bad, and this is a perfect example of a show that should have just been slated to be only two seasons and not milked and dragged out way past there was any coherent story left to tell. As for C-Note, there were scenes during the first season when he was with his gang and the way he talked and behaved just seemed to me like a hypocrite, I know that has a lot to do with the racial tensions in that type of prison environment, where they form gangs based on color and such though. But as for T-Bag, I think he was just in that to survive, not because he had any real racist feelings. He even seemed like he wanted to be a friend to C-Note at times, and I liked the episode where they had to work together in the card game, and when T-Bag tossed him a bunch of money in season 2 and told him it was pocket change to tip the valet at the Ritz Carlton. Regarding the end when C-Note tortures him, I guess it is also important to remember that all the other major characters behaved in such a way towards him, (remember when Lincoln pulled his teeth out with pliers...ouch).
