Totally agree quite you.. the difference in depth and low frequencies one can feel as soon as you switched to the rb 500 is pretty remarkable! Really liked your comparison using the same take. Well done!

Nice shootout man, cheers! I think RM700 was definitely the best one, got a lot of dimension to it and yeah bass frequencies over the roof. Would be interesting to hear it with the bassdrum mic’ed for more ‘click’.
got 2 RB500.. they are KILLER room mics!.. KILLER!.. yes a bit sloppy on the low end, but thats easy to eq out, and sometime its exactly what I need for a retro sound. RM-700 are great for overheads, but lack the punch of the RB-500 for rooms

What I can hear you are blending the close mics with the different room mics right? I think it sounds like the RB 100 is then out of phase with the close mics (therefore less bass response) and the other two mics are IN phase. That would explain the big difference in bass response! Try open your session again and listen to close mic with the RB 100 and try flip the phase on the RB 100... better?

Hey Tobias! Pretty sure I tried to flip the phases on all the mics. Can find the session and send you the tracks separately if you’d like. Cheers!

Mir gefällt die RM700

For me it's the RB-500, with the RM-700 coming close. The RB-100 sounds great on electric guitar (IMHO).

I actually put RB-500 on my bass drum for now and I love it there! Will have to try RB-100 on the guitar yet, but I am thinking to try it on my snare drum in the next days.
