I'm not worried though, we're about 10.500 km apart. (I mean from Singapore to my place). Anyway, this video made me decide to get this mic. I also bought the T.Bone SCT 2000. hi great review and song. I note the retro tube has a low output spec quoted. Did you have to set the preamp higher for the same level? I also note it has a very low output impedance of 75ohms so if it doesnt Im thinking the voltage loss at the preamp is lower so it smaking up for what it lacks in output. Anyhow just wondering how the levels were for you during the tests. many thanks, keep up the music nick

Hello from Paris. I discovered your channel and just subscribed to it... Congratulations ! Wonderful interpretation. Je suis Fan ! Do you think that this microphone could be used as a stereo pair (2 microphones) for classical music recordings (typically singing with piano, in A / B configurations, or stereo supplement in front of a classical singer). Wouldn't the sound color be too dark? I admit hesitating for this use with the SCT 2000. I already have several other quality microphones (oktava, Schoeps and Neumann) and I'm looking to broaden my sound palette a bit ... therefore I would like your wise judgment. Very good continuation and "encore bravo".
@JonIsJustTooLoud3 жыл бұрын
Merci~ yes I believe a stereo pair would be great. The microphone is warm sounding.. not dark at all✌️❤️

hi man, your vocal is really beautiful. yesterday I found in thomann this mic, many years before, probably over twenty I used Neuman M7 which is very very old vintage mic style like this t-bone. By your record sounds probably much better, even price of this mic on ebay is over 3500 euros. But, the problem is, is maybe 70 years old and power doesnt work correctly anymore. Too much strange noises works against everything. I had last few months Behringer B2 pro with ehx preamp. I dont know what to say, I checked tube preamp this and rode and on thoman samples sound this much more live and organic. Just want to hear recomendation. Thank you, you do a great job man

Thats beautiful and well done, thanks for sharing! Guess I will get that microfone! Would you have a hint about the PC- noise? Is there a silent fan? I see you are recording in front of the running pc. Do I need a silent pc?
@JonIsJustTooLoud5 жыл бұрын
You will need to place your mic in the right position. Preferably situate the computer far away... I'm actually using a Mac Book pro.. And the fan can get quite noisy if there's not enough ventilation.... Hope this helps
@bobcorn5 жыл бұрын

Nice mic, that mic made that guitar sound really juicy. I'm wondering how hot does the mic get? I noticed you had it placed the mic upright withe the diaphragm on top of the body, I know that tube mics tend to heat up and the raising hot air will cause the diaphragm to warp, is this not a problem with this microphone anymore?
