Add 1 tee and slide coupling 10 minutes work save you lot of money and carrying all this tools

4" x 2" tee and a 4" slide coupling is pretty expensive........ Every time I used my T-Drill on a 4" pipe I saved (minimum) $200 per fitting.

Why have I seen people torch the pipe before using the t drill?

It’s called annealing , and it turns the copper from hard to a softer material which won’t break when you are pulling out those new copper connections with the tool . If you did it to hard copper it would break or crack when the tool is reshaping the tubing into a new female connection
