Fion, FYI, when you are on EI, you are supposed to be looking for job in Canada. If you leave the country, they would know from the custom/ CBSA database, and they would stop paying you the EI while you are away on vacation. I think you would need to report your status every two weeks whether you are available in Canada. If you want to go for vacation out of the country, you may better do it before the EI payment starts e.g. waiting period/ on you employer's vacation pay. Of course, you may also tell Service Canada that you are on vacation for a certain period of time so that they would stop your EI payment for that period - just like taking no pay leave with your employer.

Careful, technically you aren't supposed to travel (unless with a legit reason) when laid off and receiving EI, you are supposed to look for a job. The gov might ask you to take some training courses as well for gaining your skillset. Just be mindful the gov might check your job hunting progress if you accept EI.

你离开多伦多, 要停EI , 具体可以停多久, 上网查. 但当你重新回到多伦多时, 可以继续你的EI.

Be careful, when you are collecting EI, you can not leave Canada. You have to proof that you are actively looking for work. If you leave Canada and collecting EI, CRA will go after you for repayment !!

u're not usually eligible to receive regular benefits while you're away from Canada. However, you may receive regular benefits if you show that you're available for work in Canada while abroad. You must also notify us of your travel on My Service Canada Account (MSCA) or through your bi-weekly report.

You can not leave your place of residence, i.e., Vancouver, Toronto, etc., while collecting EI.
