I remember the first time My dad took us to eat at fire pot restaurant the pot is made from copper and it has a chimney in the middle with a wide bottom around the chimney is a round container with water inside the bottom has charcoal to heat up the water and we mixed our own sauce I like to put sesame sauce soy sauce and sesame oil together and celentros it didn't have seafood just thin sliced beef or mutton meat when the water boils we put the meat inside just when it's cooked we take it out and it in the sauce mixture and eat it it's especially good when weather is cold It will warm up the belly 😅as water is getting lower the waiter will add more water and put more charcoal in the bottom so it's like a small fireplace and I think it was counting the plates for price each plate have different colors for different pieces depending on what type of meats were on the plate when we were finished the waiter will come and count the plates and my dad would pay for the meals depending on how many plates we had on the table 😅 now it's all different from my childhood It used gas and a soup pot for cooking and I don't know if it's soup Base in there or just water 😅 later my dad told me when he was in the army 😅 and he didn't have much money 😢 so when he and his friends would go to a store like that 😅they would put the plates under the table 😂 so when it's time for them to pay for the food the waiter would count the plates and he could not get it right because he has an idea on how many plates My dad and his friends had ordered and plates seem to be less than he remembers but he couldn't see other plates 😂 so he can only count the plates on the table 😂 I think at the time table has those long table clothes and it would be long to drap over the table to cover up the space between table legs so he can't see the plates inside 😨😂 will my😢 Dad was poor at the time and the army salary is not much and the army meals are simple three dishes and one soup and rice or steam buns without any filling eating the fire pot for My dad and his friends is an luxury for them 😅 and my dad said the same thing about the interior decoration he said it's the food and not how pretty inside looks 😂 that will not get returned customers it's the food 😅 and he was right it's the taste that will keep a retirement open for long time for an example in Japan there are lots of old restaurants are hundreds of years old inside are simple maybe just few tables and chairs 😅 and the owner usually is the second or third generation of the original owners 😅 the place is passed down to the next generation and fire pot our family tried to have one every year during Xmas when we were together for a family dinner ❤️ we would buy the meat and mushrooms like the one you had plus vegetables and the pots are electric we still mixed our own sauce but all the kids will sit at one table Us adult has another table 😢 I usually want to drink the soup and It mixes with the sauce soup tastes good and the It will warm up the belly 😅 but One Year my wife said the soup has too much mineral from all the meat and veggies and it's bad for the body 😢 so I can't drink it anymore 😭
