Bravo Yoel and Sabrina. Please continue, because this is one of the most important topics that will help our people understand what has happened to them since the inception of the struggle for independence. Its roots go even beyond to Italian and Ethiopian occupation of Eritrea. And to make matters worse, the Italian era was characterised by old colonial behaviour but also by Facism between 1922 until 1941. To help you delve into this subject, I suggest you read a book by Dr. David Owen, "In Sickness and in Power". Personally, the book helped me understand from a scientific point of view Eritrean psychology and culture. My concern is that since this has gone deep down into the general culture of the country, even after a change of regime, this culture will linger on for years, if not decades. It will be one of the main challenges for future generations in building democracy. So continue relentlessly your research into the matter.

Yoelino thank you for the input. This is probably the most important topic we need at this critical time. Every word of her has a deep meaning to us. We Eritreans need more psychological help and understanding to our private life and when we deal others. Sabrina is very alerted to this and trying to help. Pls invite her to go deeper and give more examples and reflections on the points raised on this interveiw. Thanks again Yoel and Sabrina

Thank you very much Sabrina for your contribution. I think it’s important to stress not everyone who shows some signs of paranoia or narcissistic tendencies is necessary should be labelled as having personality disorder. We all may show some signs of paranoia or attention seeking behaviour. We need to be careful not diagnose people around us and destroy good relationships. I agree there are strong indications of PIA having Paranoid Personality but I would not say that with Abiy but he clearly enjoys attention seeking. Good job Yoel.
