A few notes on translation: "天黑动动手"/"Move your hands at night" may be an euphemism for - Denging your Xiaoping, if you catch my drift. The song refers to Mao Zedong by his courtesy name, Runzhi. To avoid confusion, I just translated it as "Doctor Mao" This is a pre-Covid song, so the lyric about "white-clothed hospital angels" has nothing to do with Covid, however it felt appropriate to use the background image I used. "The Promise" and "Crazy Stone" are two Chinese movies. If not immediately obvious, the "They" in question is the CCP.

Appreciate you adding these notes. It is not common to see these songs translated into English fully contextualized.

@keemstarkreamstar7069 Жыл бұрын
There was no other future than this because capitalism is simply a more efficient mode of production, especially when contrasted with mLMAOism. There’s a reason why literally every nation who tried central planning has had to loosen up a bit for their economy to grow, especially in the case of ML nations. Either China would remain behind under the Iron Rice Bowl or it would flourish, and flourish it has. Those with more natural skills make more, with some lag and error and the occasional graft here and there.

@@masterdeetectiv9520 Actually it worsened because it collapsed in its entirety, not because it got rid of the planned economy. @@masterdeetectiv9520 No, but the Russian Empire did collapse in the regime change to the USSR. The USSR also collapsed in the regime change to Russia. The fact you boiled this down into a weird tautology says you have some major problems in the reading comprehension department. Planned economies are not more efficient than market economies. Thats part of the reason they don’t meaningfully exist really anywhere but North Korea.

china is not tyranny. let's use the military as an example. the PLA use their lives to save the people. you think a tyrannical state will do this? nice joke monkey. it is the US that needs to be liberated. the soldiers don't even bother to try to search for victims in a natural disaster and just bomb the tower how about other branches of government? this refers to the tower in miami florida. one day, the people's liberation army will strom new york and get rid of the government that does nothing and let the people have street gunfights, drink beer, have lousy law system, corruption, and drugs.

People like Li Zhi do not want equality, but privileges like those people he wrote in his songs. Given the power, Li Zhi would be more autocratic and corrupted than his predecessors. Besides, Li Zhi is far from an iconoclast who criticizes injustice and inequality globally. His vision is pretty limited to China only, more specially, CCP only, which is a shame.
