Would love to see a comparison for a typical 6s 5 inch build using Emax Eco 2 2306 1700 or 1900kv and similar TMotor.

Very interesting! Efficiency should also be compared at the same thrust level for both motors not at same signal level. It would be super if you could plot efficiency g/W (or even pure electric power W) on y axis vs thrust (g) on x axis.

Is it possibile that ecomax got more KV than the declared KV and that came out with a larger propeller or maybe is the opposite ?
@guarf3 жыл бұрын
these eco are more comparable to F90 1500kv

Hi. Where did you get those graphs? Can someone tell me some good sites, where they do measurements like that?
@AdrianoCasemiro4 жыл бұрын
So is T-motor better? Yes, at the best RPM range. It costs twice as much. Is it twice as good? No. Just get the E-max they are just fine. And looking fab while doing it. Let's face it. These motors are designed for bigger cruisers. Great data. Very informative.

To get a good understanding of acceleration/power, It would be good if you could do a test where the 100% throttle signal is sent immediately from 0%. Then graph the thrust increase over time to see how fast they ramp up. Comparing thrust at set throttle points doesn't really give an indication of low vs high end power.. it just gives the thrust at certain input settings... One motor may have lower thrust at say 50% throttle, but it may be able to get to 100% thrust sooner than another motor if it can spin up quicker. This is why engine dyno tests are done at 100% throttle.

My best bet is that the emax is actually higher kv than the tmotor if you measure it.

HELLO....IT IS POSSIBLE TO PUT THOSE ECOII 2807 1300 KV MOTORS TO A 5 "DRONE AND THAT IT WORKS WELL AT 6S ??
@dronepilot260rc3 жыл бұрын
I would think the motor would be over worked with a 5". The lower the kv the bigger the prop equal efficiency
@hensidetv3 жыл бұрын
Well '5 inch you should use 2306 1700kv..

Could Eco do better on high-end thanks to steel vs. titanium shaft... momentum?

So this is actually pretty much what I'd expect and somewhat related to KebabFPVs last vid. What seems to happen is that the ratio of height to diameter matters for how the efficiency curve of the motor will look. Typically our motors tend to have peak efficiency at around 20% max torque and 80% of max rpm. A taller motor will have a wider torque-efficiency range resulting in better performance at the top end across a wider range of props but the wider stators have a wider rpm-efficiency resulting in better performance at lower RPMs at the cost of a narrower peak efficiency band. The small increase in stator height likely shifted the efficiency range further up the rpm and gave higher peak torque. Have a look at siieefpv's videos and his dyno charts on mqtb. His dyno would be a super interesting thing to replicate.

You should really test the Brotherhobby 2806.5 1300kv against these two. I have all of them here and the Brotherhobby are the most efficient in my testing. Least efficient are the EMAX and on the second place the T-Motor. Quality wise T-Motor is by far the best. High quality EZO bearings, best balancing of all, 6g!! lighter than EMAX, thick base plate (3mm) and least notchiness due to flat magnets.

Drone mesh I have a silly request that would really help me. If you happen to have a 10 inch prop could quickly slap that on and do a thrust test on 3s? :)

Your efficiency graph is not correct because you put it against time scale - meaning ESC signal level in your case, while efficiency should be scaled against the thrust. That's because we throttle according to the thrust we want, so at any given moment in a real life Emax motor in your test would be under lower ESC signal where it has better efficiency than T-Motor and efficiency difference would not be 0.02
