Hello Daniela! 👋😃 Thank you! ✨ I wanted to try out the newly purchased glazes by layering them in various ways, so I decided to create something and experiment with layering techniques. 😁

Very nice and organic plates. Yes, the slib brush marks give a beautiful texture in the finished piece. So your own style 👍 Question; for tableware why is the first firing 700 and the glaze firing at >1200 ? Greetz Sheila

Clay consolidates through firing. Initially, it is fired at a low temperature to a certain extent to consolidate it, then glaze is applied, and finally, it is fired at a high temperature to further consolidate it. There is a risk of cracking or warping if glaze is applied directly and fired at high temperatures.😲☝️

@@tsukashigechannel7447 thank you for your answer. I asked this because the difference between 700 and 1230 is rather big. The temps i use are 980 for the bisc fire and 1050 for the glaze fire. Maximum 1100 ⁰C. So the difference between those 2 is not to big. I use glazes from Botz. Their fire temps are between 1020 - 1100 ⁰C for tableware ceremics. The clay i use has 25% up to 45% chamotte. So far no cracks but warping yes. But warping for me is not a bother, the piece looks organic, and handmade pieces may look that way, it makes every single piece unique. Succes with your work TsukaShige, looking forward to you next video ☻ Greetz Sheila
