Thank you very much. Sice a few weeks i am trying to learn how to center clay right on a throwingweel. Unfortunately my progress is pretty slow, so it`s realy good to know that there a other ways to make an beatiful piece of ceramtic!☺

Thank you for your comment! My mentor said. "Weaknesses can only be overcome by practicing over and over again. But if you try another method and it's unique, you'll get a great personality. " It may be important to explore various methods without being bound by stereotypes☺

@@kishasenpo Dear ....San, sorry i know a few Hiragana but i can`t read your name. I am very sorry.😢 Thanks a lot for your response. Yes, i really try to work on the centering problem and your sensei is absolute right! 🙂Sometimes it works and sometimes not and the strange thing ablout it is that i really could say why. I can`t grap the problem....but i will try it again. It must be possible to center correctly even for a weekend potter like me!😆 But i will also try your technic. I just visit ytube to see how you smoth the inner side of the teapot. The nice thing about your way of making a teapot is that i can do it at home without a weel!👍

@@Andrea-bu3vn I'm Sorry. I'm not very good at English either, so I'm relying on AI, but I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well. In this video, you can see a little bit of the inside, but it's not very beautiful.😅 Normally, the inside of the teapot is finished with EGOTE when the shape is being formed (from 0:27 to 0:35 in this video). What is EGOTE called in English? Here it is -> www.tougeishop.com/upload/save_image/t0105004-x.jpg It is quite difficult to shape and finish the inside smoothly at the same time. I think it's a good idea to practice making the shape clean first. By the way As for the centering problem, it is difficult to give specific advice, but Have you ever done it with your eyes closed? You can feel the movement of the clay better when you close your eyes, so try it sometimes. It sounds like a joke, but it's true.👌

@@kishasenpo Hello! 😃Thanks again for your fast response! And don`t worry !!! My english is far away from perfect. For me It takes hours to write an answer or a comment and i always make a misstake!🤣Sometimes it is really embarrassing but i love to speak with someone who lives so far away. Japan it`s on the other side of the planet but we both love clay. That´s amazing! Closeing my eye`s is a really good idea. For me it didn`t sound like a joke. On sunday i booked a few hours for the throwingweel. I will try it out for sure. I will write you how it worked.☺ Well i have one last question. Can you write me your name or nickname? It fells a little bit strange to write someone without a name...

I've been looking for a video that shows how to handbuild teapots. This has been most informative. Could you have this video in real time as it's too fast to see.

I was looking for a video of hand-building a teapot and just tried making one on my own using a bowl as a mold to make 2 bowls and joined them together at the rims with a long rectangular slab- so basically one bowl on the bottom, one on top and slab in the middle. I reinforced with coils and bowed the sides out. It came out pretty good, just not perfectly round and it’s quite large so I’m going to try again using a smaller bowl as a mold. I would definitely say it’s worth a shot to try it this way.

Hello! Can you tell us what is the tool used at 1:51 to make the filter? I have seen them in many Japanese teapot making videos. Thank you for the wonderful video.

Thank you for looking! that is bisque ware. (700°C) When fired at low temperatures, the clay does not stick to the surface when pressed due to its water absorbency. It is ideal for use as a mold. It is best to make several types according to the size of the teapot. The same unglazed mold is used in the scene of making the spout of the teapot.

@@kishasenpo Thank you! I will look into making a sphere mold from bisque ware for these. I did not think of that at all. 😅
