Celebrities have to realize that fans or just people in general are living in a real world. Things change. Sometimes others come along and they'll eventually drop down the ladder. People have rent/mortgages, utilities, food, car etc to pay for. Celebrities don't care about small folks but they expect the support so that they can continue to look down on folk.

No a Supporter -Fan and a Follower are two different Things most of these Celebrities have Millions of Followers just ppl that follow up on them but do not really Support their Music or Artistry thats the difference in reality Supporters are very limited to the Thousands not the Millions like these fake social Media make believe

Those things lead to small variations m numbers. The low numbers he’s doing is because he’s not relevant how he used to be. If you have millions of fans and people who see your album, all of them are not having life changing financial problems at the same time

This is why reading between the lines is equally as important (if not more important) than reading what's in front of you. Although Chris Brown was the main topic...Chris is a smaller fraction of a bigger issue. T-Pain was CLEARLY speaking in general. The only thing in the "princess complex" that doesn't apply to Chris Brown is the "being rewarded for doing absolutely nothing" statement. We all know that Chris Brown is talented, that's no secret, but where the "princess complex" comes in is Chris assuming that his (current) singles/albums are gonna go flying off the shelves like they did in the past simply because he's "Chris Brown." Well, he's currently getting his reality check that good music is just as important as talent & looks.

I'm 36 and grew up with Chris Brown. Chris is 33. His day one fans are all grown with kids and mortgages. I listened to his album and his features killed it for me. I don't want to hear these autotune, mumble rap rappers on an r&b track. Warm Embrace is my favorite song bc its straight r&b, no features. Go get Tyga if you need a rapper. We understand him😂. We've outgrown his music and he's not growing with us.

Not only is he not growing with us but he constantly talks about dark skinned women. He’s too silly to realize that some of the dark skinned women, teens, that he spoke about chose to spend their money elsewhere. I used to be a fan, I’m not anymore. There are 3 main reasons Chris album hasn’t sold as well as he would like. His biggest fan base was black woman/teens/kids until it came to light how he feels/treats black woman . We can’t be in his sections at the club , we are the butt of his jokes, disrespected a lot of black woman’s types of hair. But he expects them to still ride his wave and buy his tickets, albums, etc and does things like put normani in a music video because he thought he’d get bw back on his side. There are still some self hating black woman that still support him but it’s no where near as many fans as he used to have 💯 . The woman he “prefers” are a very minor portion of his actual fan base because they don’t have to be because why would I buy your album or tickets to shows if I can have close access to you. Number 2 , he puts wayyy too much music out at once so it’s hard to get through you hear one song in his album you’ve heard them all because he’s not saying anything new and it all sounds the same. And 3 a lot of people in general over look him now because he’s so arrogant now in his approach to dropping music or whatever he’s doing that overshadows his talent. You can’t take away his talent at all the man can dance, sing and etc but he has left bad tastes in alot of peoples mouths . If you look at a lot of these r&b /hip hop artist there careers have/will all hit a dead end because of how they act towards and treat black woman . They bite the hands that feed them and there families. Ex Chris, trey songs, etc

You hit the nail on the head. I was a die hard chris brown fan sadly even after the initial disrespect he gave that dark skinned woman unable to come into his section, but when it resurfaced again years later, I realized it was a turn off and why stream and buy from a man that didn’t like my dark skin? I unfollowed him on Instagram ( not that he followed me back) but I wasn’t happy to hear he dropped an album. Also, he for sure used normani in his video to help get black women interested. I was actually mad at her for accepting it knowing he don’t like her dark skin lol, but everything you said is facts.

I listened to the album and I can tell you exactly why he got those numbers...no effort lol The whole album sounded like a rehash of songs he's put out for the last couple of years. Like literally they just maybe changed the key and the feature but that's about it. Everybody knows Chris is one of the most talented artists out and if he really just sits and takes his time to craft something genuine I have now doubt he could create another classic...but it can't be that bubblegum ish we've been gettin lol

Where did Chris flip out though? He just made a factual statement that media outlets of the world don’t post when his album is on the way as much as they do post his BS and drama. Maybe many artist feel this way .. there use to be more balance in what the media focused on.. T-pain himself has done a lot of crying about his missed accolades and collaborations as well. Chris has more then pretty privilege at this point when he’s proven to have more hits than most r&b artist. If that’s the criteria for princess complex i’d say a lot of artists including Pain are wearing a tiara!

If you listened to the full stream then you would have known that Pain said that since Chris has not experienced this lack of support before he has fallen into the princess complex trap. If you are used to getting things to go your way you expect it to always be a positive outcome whether you work hard or not. Chris creates the same type of songs and expect people to not get tired of hearing the same songs over and over again. Pain has experienced a lot of backlash over his music which is why he is not bothered by that anymore. The Usher thing was the first time he experienced backlash and right after that the Jay-Z thing happend so based on his past experiences he is immune to the princess complex.

Yo' lil' braids is cute, Angie. You look so pretty. 😉 LMAO at Christopher Brown having a "Princess complex." I saw Christopher comment about folks caring more about his drama (that he creates for publicity) than his actual 'music.' Bébé, he has to understand the cold, hard truth that ALL artists face. There are layers to this. Christopher is 33 years old. He came out when he was 16 years old. He's just a few years shy of 20 years in the music business and that's super rare. Most artists get 3 - 5 years, 10 years if they're lucky and 15+ years is rare. Nah, when he first came out, the fans were strictly focused on the music. When he released his debut LP back in 2005, there was no drama or controversy. He was a cute lil' boy making his way onto the music scene. His singles were marketed and promoted and that was that. Social media then became the focal point and here we are today. Christopher _cain't_ even release music w/o some type of drama behind it. That's the direction right nah. Folks love a juicy story attached to the music. And truth be told, Christopher music hasn't been enjoyable in years. It's the same ol' crap every single time. Free music is the norm. Nobody's buying music. Doesn't matter how cute and light-skinned you are. Nobody's buying music. Christopher has to understand that fans grow up and move on. It's not personal. It's life. His fan base are in they early 30's and life is real. They're starting to purchase homes, create families, etcetera. They're not the little girls waiting around for his videos to play on _106 & Park_ anymore. That time has passed. I love Usher Raymond, but am I waiting around for him to release new music? Absolutely not. I simply don't care anymore. I'm no longer the little girl waiting to go to _Tower Records_ to pick up _My Way._ This isn't something that's right or wrong. It's life. Kanye West, Nasir, etcetera have released new music and ain't nobody talkin' about it. Same thing goes for Mary J. Blige and Brandy Norwood. It's gon happen to ALL artists. Christopher, drop this lil' Princess complex that you've got goin' on and know what's REALLY goin' on. Folks aren't necessarily interested in new music, especially in the real world. Folks are interested in podcasts, Influencers and sh¡t like that. Y'all mentioned artists getting mad because they have millions of followers, but only a small portion of them actually buy the music. Well, guess what? A lot of those followers are bots auto-generated by certain platforms. For example, Instagram auto-generates bots and bot comments for artists. Them accounts don't be real. Look at the language they use. "This Cardi B performance was splendid." SPLENDID?! Cardi B fans ain't gon be talkin' 'bout some 'splendid.' They gon be like, "B¡tch!!! You did that sh¡t!" I used to get bot comments a lot when I first started posting comments here on KZbin. The main one was, "Go listen to Bieber." Nah, when you strip away all of the fluff and get back to the real world, the average Joe ain't gon know about these artists' new music. When folks go to an Elgin Lumpkin (Ginuwine) concert, they wanna hear his hits. They don't want new music or music from his independent efforts. Taalib Johnson (Musiq Soulchild) is another one. He keep releasing new music and nobody ends up supporting it.

Oh so now pretty privilege is a problem when its men?? Just like colorism is ignored by men until it affects them. When women say the same thing in reference to women we are told we are jealous or hating. Just like when we bring up colorism it is often ignored by men.

One thing that this era has shown my old ass is that stars don’t exist beyond the ones that are in the sky….and in most cases they’re already dead.

Only because he is not in trouble. The news only care about CB when he gets in trouble but he has been good lately so no one cares.

What is wrong with being pretty. Nothing.. CB is talented like no one else and that's why he benefits. Stop the jealousy and the low key hating. It's getting boring.

He just commented that Chris is pretty much spoiled from being on top for years. Being mad about your fans not supporting you enough because your album didnt sale like you wanted, has nothing to do with his singing. Lol.
