And right after I installed the free version, I am a bit disappointed the licenses don't seem to be transferable across versions like they are on Amplitube. At least they solved the module management issue, so that's a start. Not a big fan of this Waves scheme of having to buy the same plugin multiple times across software versions, especially considering there's no changes to the modules which are not brand new.

IK will never get the licensing right. I can't even open my TR5 plugins in the new Tracks plugin even though I purchased them. Is this actually intentional? If it is, what a shame. They finally after years give us the possibility of managing which plugins are displayed, and paywall it 1 weeks after a huge TR5 sale?...

Definitely a pretty uninspriing update, for a version 7 years removed from the previous release. Ik has fell well behind the times with their processing plugin innovation. And their sales strategey is hilarious. Just finished selling 60+ plugins for only $40, then adds ONLY 6 new ones and wants to charge $199 for the upgrade. 😂😂😂

They've implemented sidechaining on all appropriate plugins, so ducking is doable. A number of plugins have the mix knob - but true on gain compensation.

They typically never update old plugins, and there are still bugs from years ago. Ex phase inversion doesn’t work in the British channel just to name one. The bug is still there in v6

Bought SampleTank 4 Max then spent 2 weeks trying to install it...I won't be buying any other IK Multimedia product until they sought their shit Product Manager out. To top it off, it now crashes my DAW when loading samples. 🤬

I think Sampletank is a huge collection of useful sounds but code is low quality, including adding libraries. I had some issues and I don't use it anymore. But I use a lot Hammond B3X, Mixbox and T Racks. For these things I am having wonderful results

Caution is good of course. But in my case,it installed v6 alongside v5. So I have both.

This company is tricky. Give your Rack 5, think you have it but your CS, so all the plugins that look available in your DAW are not. That is deceitful. Secondly, their CPU management compared to Izotope is worse. And lastly, it is common courtesy to offer a fluid affordable upgrade path as opposed to the do it all over again and pay approach. Good buy IK Multimedia.

I am glad that the new Master Match allows for MP3 references. Other than that I do not see why someone who has T-Racks 5 should upgrade. Yes, there are new modules, but if great masters were being delivered by 5 why up grade? It is a bit like Studio One, which coincidentally is 5 to 6, where I did not see the need to upgrade. I am also concerned about having too many plugins that become redundant.

The new modules might encourage or allow for greater workflow efficiency, new technique implementation, a stylistically different/more varied workload going forward, or just simply more fun.
