The Tyrannosaurus was built more heavily than Giga and as such would be much stronger and more resilient to attacks.Also,the Tyranno's brain was larger,giving it a chance to take armored foes down,while Giga relied on pack hunting against slow moving targets like Argentinosaurus,along with speed.So yeah,Tyrannosaurus was a better hunter.

This was true in 1995, but not today. There was a period of few years in which Giganotosaurus was considered the largest predator, but when they were dissotterate the bones of Carcharodontosaurus and Mapusaurus, of comparable size to the Giganotosaurus, and Spinosaurus, probably of even bigger size, Giganotosaurus has lost the record. But it still remains one of the larger predators.

No, I don't suggest that. It is not supported by the anatomy of other Spinosaurs. However I don't think there really is anything but personal feeling suggesting such a weight would be impossible for a biped. Anyway, it would be ALMOST double the weight, at least have a very significant weight advantage, imo too much for any othjer theropod found so far to really rival it in terms of power.

Giganotosaurus was at least 2 or more tons heavier than t-rex. even its skeleton is heavier than t-rex's. there have been at least several skeletons of giganotosaurs unearthed in argentina (or at least possibly 2 separate species, but closely related) and most of them were the same size as Sue, one of the largest t-rex skeletons ever found.

No, Giganotosaurus was not tall 14 m/46 ft, which would be more than Brachiosaurus, but more like 3.7 meters. Spinosaurus was about 6.6 meters high on top of the spinous processes, and 5 meters to the head.

This is an exaggeration. Spinosaurus could easily exceed 10 tonnes, this is true, but I seriously doubt that it can reach 16 tons, which is equal to twice the estimated weight for Giganotosaurus. Spinosaurus was "only" 2.4-3 meters longer than Giganotosaurus, and not enough to double the mass.

First things first, this would be an epic battle of many proportions, however a significantly unfair one at that, and that is that the Giganotosaurus would be at a distinct disadvantage against the T-Rex and for many reasons I'll explain here. Here, lets get some detailed information here... Giganotosaurus Height: 14-17 feet Length: 43-47 feet Weight: 7-8 tons Skull: 6 feet Tyrannosaurus Rex Height: 13-16 feet Length: 40-45 feet Weight: 6-7 tons Skull: 5 feet Size --- Winner: Slight advantage to Giganotosaurus - When looking at the two indicated here, there really is no size significance from T-Rex to Giganotosaurus, who is only about 8% larger. Being 1 ton heavier is insignificant as well in this case, in fact the size ratio difference from a Tiger to Lion is more significant then the size ratio between a Giganotosaurus to a Tyrannosaurus Rex, so although Giganotosaurus is slightly larger, its only by a hair's worth. Nevertheless, its an advantage is only slight. Skull structure and Teeth--- Winner: Tyrannosaurus Rex - The skulls of both animals as in basically all other large theropod dinosaurs were the main killing tools, and Giganotosaurus sported thin blade like teeth then can be up to 8 inches long. These were very serrated and were made to cause slicing wounds that would ultimately lead to blood loss of the prey, more of a bite, open a wound and pull back and let them bleed method of attack. Giganotosaurus actually had a primitive skull like majority of the other giant theropods (giant theropods means giant carnivore dinosaurs in case some are wondering) in that it had a relatively narrow snout from the front, and its lower jaw bones were not wide, indicating that it didn't have a significantly powerful bite force. This makes sense since its teeth would not be capable of such a thing, and were pertained to cutting and slicing, a form in which nearly all primitive theropods used. This was an effective killing tactic, because it would have been great up against the giant sauropods of its time, so such a method would have been efficient. Tyrannosaurus Rex on the other hand had the largest teeth of any land predator we know of. They grew upwards of up to 12 inches, making them 4 more inches longer then even those of Giganotosaurus. The teeth however were different from all other giant theropods in that instead of them being thin and blade like, they were heavily robust, wider then bananas. T-Rex had some of the bluntest teeth of any land carnivore, they were serrated, but not like Giganotosaurus, emphasizing a completely different killing style all together. Where as Giganotosaurus killed by slicing, T-Rex killed by crushing its prey with its teeth. Tyrannosaurus Rex had the most heavily muscled neck, skull of any giant theropod or land predator we know of. It's skull was also broad and wide, making it completely unique from all other theropods as well. This along with an incredibly wide lower jaw bone, gave it a massive biting power. Erickson did a study on the bite force of T-Rex, and from a single tooth mark from that of a Triceratops hip, he got an accurate estimate of 3,500 lbs. However, this was only a feeding bite, indicating that the animal was not excerting its killing bite but merely a casual feeding bite...quite impressive wouldn't you say for a simple feeding bite wouldn't you say? Not to mention the fact that it was only a measurement from a single tooth. When a later study of the entire jaw of T-Rex was done, the forces came to a conclusion of 200+ KN. So the maximum bite force of a T-Rex would have been around 40,000 to nearly 50,000 lbs of force! The only animal to rival the T-Rex in bite force is the giant shark of the past...Megalodon which was measured with a 44,000 lb bite force. This puts T-Rex in the undisputed elite of bite forces, with only one known known animal to rival it. So in conclusion in the matter that the skull and jaws are the main killing weapons for these large giant theropods, the fact is that Giganotosaurus cuts and wounds, but T-Rexes can crush through bone. Unlike Giganotosaurus, who would have went around the bones, T-Rex would have crushed them, and devoured meat along with the bones. With such a killing tool as the main weapon the T-Rex is the clear significant winner here. Strength --- Winner: Tyrannosaurus Rex by a landslide - There is absolutely no question of debate here. Every mainstream paleontologist who is not biased to either creature would state Tyrannosaurus Rex is lb for lb the most powerful land predator that we have ever discovered up to date. Giganotosaurus is indeed a powerful predatory animal, and in comparison to say Spinosaurus whom is larger then Giganotosaurus and Rex, but nowhere near as heavily muscled as either or. Now Giganotosaurus is indeed a robust and powerful animal, but T-Rex anatomically is far more stocky, more barrel chested and significantly muscled through skull, neck, body and tail. It's neck muscles are nearly almost as strong as its leg muscles which truly shows you the scope of how much the Tyrant Lizard King packed. So in a case of who would overpower who, the T-Rex has no equal on land in terms of predators, nothing even comes close. Within the animal kingdom...strength is huge, and in this case, T-Rex is the obvious victor. Advancement ---- Winner: Tyrannosaurus Rex - This is why I said this match up would be unfair. T-Rex being the last of the large Giant Theropod dinosaurus was also equipped with the best advancements of them all. It had a significantly larger brain to process better and more efficient killing tactics. However the true significant difference from Rex to Giganotosaurus in advancement were the eyes. T-Rex had phenomenal eye vision in comparison to Giganotosaurus, however the real difference comes in where the eyes were set. In Giganotosaurus and nearly all other giant theropods before T-Rex, their eyes were set to the sides of their skulls, indicating a good all around vision, however it's frontal vision is blinded giving it no real 3-D vision, or stereoscopic vision (seeing with 2 eyes) if you will. Tyrannosaurus Rexes eyes were however set in front of its skull, allowing it excellent stereoscopic vision, giving it the ability to be able to effectively in front of them. This is a huge leap in advantage, because as we see today, numerous land predators, majority of them top-predators all have this concept...Tigers, Lions, Jaguars, Leopards, Hyenas, Wolves, Bears, Eagles etc, etc all have great stereoscopic vision which allows them to judge depth and calculate distance. So where as a Giganotosaurus would have to sway its head from side to side in order to see depth, T-Rex would not need to do such a thing. Overall: Tyrannosaurus Rex would have the clear cut advantage in this make believe fight and would win 8 to 9 out of 10 times if these two were to confront one another. The fact is simple. T-Rex is far more powerful, it also has a more devastating killing weapon, and its also more advanced in terms of evolutionary line of its tools (bigger brain, stereoscopic vision). All of this gives T-Rex a huge stomp to Giganotosaurus.
