I know full well both these massive predators lived in North America, but the reality is they never saw each other what with the tiny matter of, oh 75 million years separating them from each other. The ONLY therapod capable of bringing down a Tyrannosaur was another Tyrannosaur. It would have made a forward facing charge at this new challenger, maybe knocking it to the ground or delivering a series of bones crunching bites. The Saurophaganax DID have some strong arms and claws, but it's slashing bite would NOT have been enough. The Tyrannosaur would have been VERY intimidating to the primitive theraopod. And I don't see a forward facing charge over a carcass on it's part.... But DAMN, I enjoy this stuff!!!!

I don't think this is true, because 1. if saurophaganax charges at Trex and Trex doesn't catch him because he's a bit slower, I don't think saurophaganax is smart enough to do the same thing every time, most likely the Trex would also charge at him and if he misses, they'll end up charging at themselves and that's when the Trex would most likely do a good crushing bite and break saurophaganax neck or leg. 2. If the Saurophaganax tries to slash the Trex, the Trex would most likely bite the Saurophaganax arm and rip it off, causing him to bleed out until death and it would be an easy win for the Trex 3. I don't think that the Trex won't attack Saurophaganax and try to run it. Also, the Trex isn't so slow at the point that it cannot make any bite, the Saurophaganax isn't a raptor.

I mean Saurophaganax could literally jump on the T-rex and tear it to pieces with its foot and hand claws since it was an agile predator. T-rex would have little chance trying to out manoeuvre the more agile predator. Sue was actually 4m at the hips and around 9 tons, Scotty being around 10 tons and 4m plus at the hips. Saurophaganax in more recent studies was estimated to be 11m long with 3 to 4 tons being accurate. I disagree with the size estimates but do agree that a fight could go either way

I actually think that speed is more important here with these kinds of killers. T-rex was stronger and heavier but also slower. The same can be said of the prey that Saurophaganx hunted like Apatosaurus. T-rex would have had trouble getting a good bite in due to slower speed. Plus, Saurophaganax would have likely been strong enought to have knocked T-Rex down and it wouldn't have been able to get up. The Saurophaganax bite would have also made T-rex start to go into shock along with any slashes from the longer arms of the Allosaruidae. I really think people over estimate the things an Adult T-rex could do with it's slower speed. It was likely the juveniles that made most kills and then had it stolen by the larger adults. The same can be said of most of the large Theropod predators around the prehistoric world.

The Saurophaganax was less intelligent too. It's like a Jaguar against a cheetah. The Saurophaganax's arms were useful tools but they placed it in range of the T.rex's bite. And a Saurophaganax needs multiple bites to make the rex bleed to death while a T.rex needs only one to kill the Sauro. And Sauro being 13 metres is out dated. It was probably only 11 metres. I don't get why people favor the rex over a Giga then favour it's smaller weaker cousin.

The Apatosaurus was no faster then what T-Rex had to run down and in fact would be slower. Sauros bite wouldn't do much to T-Rex since T-Rex fought his own kind with 6 tons of bite. As far as arms go that wouldn't mean much either. For falling down birds can get right back and they don't have any arms so that is crap. This is like saying a Gray Hound would win against a Rott but most of us know better on how that would turn out. For you T-Rex haters keep wishing for them to dig up a land predator that is up to the task but as of yet nothing but you still got your JP and JW Hollywood monsters.
