I don't usually comment on this channel, but "nice job on that t-top removal". I could not have done it better myself.

I’m getting ready to do this on my car, I like how you removed the front via the factory spot welds, most just cut mid pillar and re weld it back together. I didn’t want to do that for fear measuring could be off. So awesome job! How difficult was it to do it that way on the A pillars? What all needed removed to get to those spot welds?

The t-tops you removed appear to be Hurst hatches - which is what Burt Reynold's 77 black Trans Am had in Smokey and the Bandit - and are known for leaking like crazy. Nice job on neatly removing the roof - makes it a lot easier to put the donor roof back on. Only thing that bothered me was a safety thing - the guy that was melting the lead out of the seams should have been wearing a respirator. The fumes, smoke, and lead dust are very bad for your lungs and there's even the possibility of lead poisoning. Any time you're working with lead you should be wearing a respirator.

The vehicles in the movie also had the iconic “T top” removable roof panels which the car at the beginning of the video does not have. I so wanted one of those at the time. I did end up buying a brand new 1980 Camaro but without the roof. It was a complete piece of garbage. GM and the other US car makers were cutting so many corners at the time that most US made cars had a high rate of design and manufacturing flaws. That was one of several major reasons Japanese vehicles were able to get such a hold on the US auto market. To this day I will not buy any vehicle made by GM.
