I sometimes dream and wish that I could see the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, the Empire City of Constantinople, with its defensive walls, and the busy traffic and markets, with the spices, flowers, and songs of the people in the corners of the city, and the great hymns sung by the priest in the cathedral of St. Sofia, and see the varangian guards loyal to Basilius or the Emperor. Oh Constantinople if only it still stood as it did in the days of untouchability. Your music is beautiful, and takes my imagination back to those days, greetings. 🥰✝☦
