@@Golikol369258 He’s introverted, which means impromptu speaking will never be his strongest skill. We can say his answers are safe or boring but… What does this have to do with his humility (which the original commenter is talking about)? There are lots of interviews from other people, even from his grandma, about him. Watch him crying on About Time with the terminally ill father and his son, who dreams of being a pro-gamer, and then giving such pragmatic advice in such a kind way. He said in an interview that he’s very conscious about his actions as he thinks he could be a bad influence to the youth that play LOL if he showed bad behavior.

@2:15 mis-translation by the interpretor. Question asked was: JDG showed a lot of picks in a 5 sets, whereas T1 only showed 3, but interpretor asked "You've showed 3 picks, will it make an impact on your next game that you showed a lot of your picks", which is why Faker's answer was, "Form will matter more, even though we showed our picks"
@psychedelaholic10 ай бұрын
Without this man on your screen T1 was reduced to 5 players running around like chickens with their heads cut off. It's hard to believe that subtracting one player can cause a 1st or 2nd place LCK team to immediately start losing to the bottom 3 teams. Almost all the macro calls you see in T1's games are orchestrated by Faker, guy is indisputably irreplaceable.

I feel bad for nonbilinguals cause the translator slightly alters the meaning of most things Faker says. Like, when asked how it was like to transition from a young player to a leader, Faker says "I may be the oldest, but in reality I think the most important thing at the end of the day is gameplay. I work hard and believe that if I just show good gameplay from the front, the other players will follow behind me." The translator wasn't wrong persay, but she left out the part where gameplay is more important than seniority to him, and makes it seem like Faker emphasizes his age's relation to his role more than he actually does.

I think it has to do with the kind of people who don't like to like something most people like, and prefer cheering for someone who in their view only few people can really appreciate. That makes them feel special, and they detest the kind of people who just jump on the main bandwagon of liking the most liked thing. This kind of bias is present everywhere in life, so it is not surprising that it is present in esports/league as well. He is a humble, friendly, ridiculously talented and intelligent person who strives to lift himself and others around him as high as he possibly can. Hating on a person like that is sad in my opinion.

And he even reminded the translator to say that he’ll continue to do his best when she forgot that part in the last answer haha 6:17 It’s interesting how he said he wants to bring happiness/enjoyment to more people in the future… that means after LOL right? Because he specifically started it with “If I can… because I am currently a pro-gamer, I am focusing just on my gameplay for now but if I can…” Although that could mean as a streamer, I feel like he probably means improving the LOL-scene in terms of organization, environment, and probably exposure in the future hmm…

I think most interviews now days are within a script. Meaning, the guys that has been interviewed has a list of questions handed to him/her ahead of time, so they can think of a good answer. Also, by having a list of approved questions, companies are able to avoid controversial or unwanted topics that may affect the person who is being interviewed.
