I think its better than the Super conq for randoms, because you are faster, and your weak points are thick enough that it works well vs lower tiers. S.Conq weakpoint are still weak in t8.

@@tobiasL1991 depends on how you look at the things, for example, the cupola can be penned with standard ammo, but if you're getting shot at with gold it doesn't make it any easier to pen most of the time, if you're good at wiggling and hiding the cupola you'll avoid getting penned no matter if the enemy spams gold or not, same goes with the frontal hull, weakpoints can be penned with tier X standard ammo, the rest is immune pretty much to everything except the strongest TD gold rounds. My tactic is to show the hull to the enemy but hide the lower plate partially behind some rubbles and what not, top part of the lower plate is as strong as the upper hull plate and a lot of people still get baited into shooting that thick part of the lower plate, because they think lower plate = easy pen. With more battles on the E5 you get used to its flaws and can work your way around them, it's incredibly rewarding, unlike S. Conq which is boring AF to play.

@@arekb5951 A couple of points though, an E5 shooting at an E5's copula has 80% chance to pen it with standard, that means 1/5 shots bounces even when perfectly aimed. Shooting gold changes that to 100% pen, but indeed doesn't increase the pennable area. That said, wiggling versus any decent player is pretty difficult, it's doable but not reliable really. As for the hull, the middle part above the beak can be penned with most gold rounds. It's about 300mm strong. It's not immune at all versus gold rounds and quite a big weakness. But it's true that the strip below the weak, the first part of the lower plate is very strong, 380mm strong. It's a solid option for baiting shots, unless you meet decent players. The E5 has been around for years and many decent players have no problem at all with the E5. That brings us to the side turret, if you turn your turret about 10° it can get penned by gold rounds, and 10° is almost frontally, and sure it's only the part where the gold of the gunmantlet starts, but it's still very noticeable, it's only 270mm strong. The problem with the E5 is that guns and aimtimes have greatly decreased ever since it was introduced, that alone makes wiggling, moving back and forth difficult to pull off. It works great when the Renegade does it versus long aimtime tier 8's but falls a bit flat when the E5 tries to do it versus tier 10's.

This tank is underrated. Yes the commander's hatch is easy to hit, but not so easy to pen. Just don't sit still in front of enemies and don't try to side-scrape, all your other problems will be solved by that awesome gun.

Its not underrated, its like Skill said, its just hard to play, try going with it to standard hull down spots or play it like classic armored heavy tank, it will suck so hard, you have no armor for that and you dont even have alpha to trade. But if you take a look at top players, they can do in E5 just as well as in S.Conq

I recently watched a vid from Dak on the E5 and tried his setup with Improved Hardening, Turbocharger, and Gun Rammer. Wasn’t expecting much, I prefer the Soviet Heavy style. Well, I found a new love. Did the same setup for my Renegade and AE Phase I, and now I have a rotation of 3 US Heavy Mediums, that I play over and over, depending on how MM is treating me that day. Thanks for your vid on this, stopped @8:08 to type this, back to your style of play with my new favorite tank. ✌🏻

The gun handling is truly amazing and I find that extra vehicle movement from the turbocharger and equipment choices is more beneficial to my style of gameplay and really doesn’t affect the gun handling as bad as I thought it might have.

HEAT might often be slower than gold APCR but it does not lose penetration over distance - I think players sometimes forget that AP and APCR both suffer from this which reflects the real physics (which the game calculations use) involved in throwing a solid shell at something - the further away it is the less speed (and as such) energy these shells have which means they penetrate less - combine this with good old RNG and against solid armour a HEAT shell will always come out ahead.

I have a love/hate relationship with the tank. It feels nice in every department. But armor and gun are so random. Sometimes you bounce shot by shot, another time absorb everything. So is the gun: it feels pleasant and has very good characteristics on paper. But sometimes you make pixel shots in series, another time it flies anywhere but the point you are aiming at like crazy. All in all, the tank doesn't feel like HT on some maps, you must retain a possibility of retiring to a safer position as if you play a medium, which is not always easy because it is not. It feels great when there is a place for maneuvre and allies around, just as armored mediums do, with even more confidence.

I disagree that the armor is weak. I play extremely well in my E5 and it’s very simple, just don’t sit still hulldown. Basically it’s real strenght is it’s hull armor and then it becomes very easy for you to bait them into shooting the lower plate or if you angle right it’s side. It’s turret is actually insanely strong apart from its cupola. Move around enough and people won’t be able to shoot your cupola. Play aggressive and keep moving you’ll bounce anything and be able to punish them hard. Turbo rammer and hardening is for me the ideal setup. With turbo it quite literaly becomes a very well armored medium with an insane gun.

For me E5's armor is better compare to S. Conqueror because of the shape. It's a bit confusing with all those sexy curves and you can even bounce its lower plate in some cases. S. Conqueror's armor is good but the shape is very simple and you will pen the lower plate 99% of the time you hit it. The cupolar is not easy to hit and pen if you keep a good distance from the enemy, and the great gun helps you in doing so.

This tank on console is monstrous after it's buff last year. You can push it's DPM above 4500 and enemies often regret their in game choices when trying to out trade this bad boy. Unfortunately artillery hasn't received the changes that they have on PC (all though they are planned), so attempting to go hulled down can be a painful experience 😅 Definitely in my top 4 heavy tanks next to the Chieftan, 60TP and WZ-111-5A!

Lol today I had this annoying e5 sniping from the bank right behind me as a t8 ragnorak which was pmo as he kept getting spotted which got bullets whizzing at me. I back up behind the rock and just stare at him. 2 seconds later he gets hit and then ammo racked by a grille 15. Just cracked up laughing and said good shot because it was a damn good shot. Deserved imo.

E5 is one of the best heavies...... if you can hide the cuppola. This tank is made for sidescraping when something is blocking your left side. The dpm is nice, accuracy too. A work horse

The thing is that you play 30 games in a row with this tank and you need to sleep 2 days to get nervous sistem back. It has a cupola as big as yoh turret (drama), so you need to move all the time... Definetly only for good players that preffer enjoyment to performance. Why to play this having S. Conqueror, yoh, vz55... Just my opinion. Cheers

@Skill4ltu Because APCR has 2 degrees of shell normalization, APCR will reduce the effective armor of opponents more than HEAT. So with a small difference like 326 APCR vs 340 HEAT, the APCR will have higher effective penetration.

I didn't enjoy this tank as I enjoy the M103 First thing first, I hate the cupolas, it allows all of the shell, went through to the butt.. Second, when you are sidescraping. You can shoot the engine deck, yes its small weakspot on the back of the hull And the last was, the armor is so freakin random like the Matchmaking did.. Yes, sure you can bounce one two three bla bla bla. But in fact, most of them are pen. Even with the standard ammo.. One thing i love about this tank was the reload and the pen..
