'Design and Manage' is a Cities: Skylines let's play series that focuses on what are for me two core aspects of the game: Design (eye candy, aesthetically pleasing layouts, road systems and districts) and Management (earning a positive income while providing all necessary services to maintain a functional city and a healthy traffic flow).
This series is played without mods.

I'm a relatively new subscriber. Saw one of these videos in my recommendations the other day and started on the first video in the series. I'm also new to Cities: Skylines and it's kind of daunting when you get into the game and see all the options. I have to say thank you for all the little tips like how to get perfect parallel semi circle roads. Your tips are very helpful. You also have a similar design concept as I do. I like everything to be exact and systematic (like your 3 block thing).

The campus looks great. Hope you add varsity sports before too long. We need a repeat of the soccer stadium from the last city! Also maybe work on some public transportation to help with the traffic. Your network last season was great and all the newer viewers need to see T4rget at his best.

I saw a number of good places to put bus stops and metro stations in/around the campus itself, it'll be interesting to see what he does with the public transportation.

City looks awesome. when you are detailing the pathway, putting sitting benches, a few garbage cans, lights etc would go along way in the detailing. Adding trees is great, but for realism, just look for inspiration from your own public parks. That extra touch would be amazing.

I like to use roads with bike lanes near my university. I imagine a lot of broke students appreciate being able to ride their bikes to nearby commercial buildings and such.

This series made me start playing Cities: Skylines again. I've been loosely following the same principles and adding my own twists, almost using it as a tutorial. It has been a long while since I last played (2 years) and there are lots of new features in the DLCs so it's been great how you explain your work. Sadly I keep running into PC crashes, only happens with this game, Resident Evil 3 runs fine but something about this is causing me trouble.

I had the same issue as you, and allocating free disk space as temporary, slow RAM fixed it for me. You can look up how to do it, I can't remember anymore how I did it 😅

Try using NVIDIA'S GeForce Now. They run the game through steam on there fast servers with awesome graphics cards. You can even play on your phone. The phone is a little harder to do things because buttons are so small, but I got used to it.

Imperatur also a great one. I follow the 3 of then. Also ConflictNerd does a great job, he has a new vanilla series. Imperial has a different approach on cities. Spread then to thin I think. A lot of gaps. One way is good for traffic, but then waste a lot of space.

Tiny bit of feedback/criticism. This time the last big timelapse had crucial stuff in it that would've been better to see fully or slowed down atleast. Most people can do "ok" cities, but from 22:40 to 25:40 you city went from that "ok" city to HOLYFUCKTHATLOOKSAWESOME city. .... which is the entire point why we watch these. You did try to explain later on what you did, but that process imo would've been better to see in more detail.

Hi Target! How's your frame rate in the city/game? I have a similar 2017 PC like yours [ i7 / 1070 / 16GB / 256 GB SSD ] and I'm getting ~30-40 FPS on 1440p, with 2K inhabitants, with only some basic/useful mods. Any tips for a smooth fps like yours? So far I lowered the simulation speed to 65% and gained some fps, but looking at your and other CS youtuber's smooth framerate it's really discouraging. I would understand a low fps with 20K - 50K+ citizens, but at 2K? Anyway... :) I know this is a youtube comment section not a forum, so I'll just say that I really dig your style and calm commentary! Keep up the awesome work!

Not very knowledgeable on this, but the only thing I see you doing different is the resolution. Have you tried decreasing it to 1080p?

@@T4rgetGaming I have a 1440p G-Sync Monitor, playing on 1080p is like blasphemy lol but I did try it and also set the resolution to 3k-4k using the Dynamic Resolution mod, and it actually doesn't look bad - and I gained like 10 fps, so thanks for the tip :)

I got you. Graphics cards also take a big load the bigger the resolution. Not sure how adequate the 1070 is on 1440p, but I would try to do some research about it. Glad to help!

Really nice. I guess I would use less roads in the campus, given that most of the buildings can snap to pathways (or have even the pathways built in, like your main building). But this might have to wait until we got some public transport here.

You have far more patience for tree planting than i do; i usually just pick one tree and set the brush to the max size and strength, let RNG do the placement for me.
