His points are so valid. With NAC5 I don't mind skipping matches that don't seem interesting based on the players. But with HC? ANY of them can be bangers, we never know when an amazing match up is going to happen.

I got into the AoE2 community thanks to Hidden Cup 2. I saw it on Twitch and was surprised that my favorite game from 2000 was still alive and well. I suspect my story is very similar to many others'. Thank you man!

Same, I pulled up twitch and couldn’t believe that AoE 2 was on the front page. It was the hidden cup 2 finals and that was basically what got me back into AoE 2 and I’ve been watching ever since.

I remeber the finals for hidden cup 2. It was the first pro aoe2 i ever watched. Found it in a buffet. Didnt leave for 3 hours because i was watching so much. Havent missed a hidden cup since

The Hidden Cup series is truely the best. Im a hardcore aoe2 fan since 4 years and the only time i open twitch is to watch a hidden cup. I will do it again this time. Thanks for your amazing work tristan.

Second comment… you mentioned at the end about how you don’t do sketchy sponsors and sell out and such. This can’t be understated. Fair play and respect to you for that. Reminding people each stream and video about HC is absolutely fine and us casuals don’t mind that at all. Especially cos you’re not banking on sketchy shit. Nice one bro.

One thing Ive noticed to date: Too many are confused with Qualifiers vs Actual comp. Can this be explained further to stop people asking in chat why names arent hidden during Qualifiers games. Wish Id known about the AOE2DE community during COVID-19 as Im one of the Melbourne, Aust survivors who made it through the 263 days of lockdowns. Best wishes for Hidden Cup 5 as this will be my first time following the comp 😊🤩

I haven't played this game in twenty years. I used to have the Conquerors expansion disc in my drive and to play a skirmish every day twenty three years ago. I didn't have an internet connection back then, so I never played online. Six years ago, in 2018, I somehow stumbled upon a certain youtube video with forest and nothing else. Ever since then AoE 2 has become my favourite game I don't play. I haven't missed a single Hidden Cup while I have missed almost all NACups or most of the Wololos. I will not miss this Hidden cup either. I'm taking my days off at work for it. HC5 will be great, I'm sure of it.

Suggestion for future Hidden Cups: Team Hidden Cup! I once organized it with my friends and it was soooo funny :D teams were made by seeding. Best seeded player teamed up with the worst seeded one, then second best with second worst and so on. Srsly, this was so entertaining. We did 8 Teams with 2 players per team.

Every friend I’ve gotten to try it doesn’t end up sticking around yet personally I play daily and don’t see myself quitting for many more years. I think a cool addition that would kind of be interesting to see, that would also nullify some of the strengths or weaknesses of a player’s Hero; would be to have a small army that goes head to head (including the Hero) against another army. Both hidden players would be given an identical amount of resources (e.g. 500W, 500F, 500G) and would need to draft an army composition prior. They don’t get to see what their opponents draft until both armies have to fight and by then it’s too late, they have to try and make it work. Thanks T90 for bringing a bit of love to a game that I played as a child, that now my own children enjoy! P.S. love that we share the same last name!
