It actually seems like a good idea to me to ram down the wall right where it goes into the trees, build your own 3-4 layers of very short wall across the gap, and then put all kinds of farms and woodlines way back there, and it will be basically invulnerable without onagers or massive time wasted by the enemy.

Nili doesn't stand for Hippo in German. Yes, It's called "nile horse" -> Nilpferd. But no ones uses "Nili" as abbreviation for that. That's like saying "Army" stands for Armadillo in the US.

Exactly. Never heard someone say "Nili", especially not while talking about Flusspferde/Nilpferde/Hippos. And I am a person that spends most of his time reading and earns his Euros by writing, so I know quite some words that are used only locally or have grown out of fashion. Maybe "Nili" was just Nilis nickname in his friendgroup or so, what would not be a very charming way to adress someone
