Actually, Maniratnam aa Illayaraja vidam introduce panni vacchadhu Balumahendra nu than maniratnam biography la soli irrukaaru...aanaa T.G.Thyagarajan vera maadhri solgirar.. however Pagal Nilavu Producer T.G.Thiyagarajan thann.

Chitra sir, one question, illayaraja did music for pallavi anupallavi directed by manirathnam, much before pagal nilavu. How come raja sir was treating manirathnam as new comer for pagal nilavu?

I can't believe this kind of confusion, Ilayaraja has already done two films with mani ratnam,Pallavi anu pallavi(1983-Kannada), Unnaru(1984-Malayalam) and Ilayaraja sir has recommended many producers for mani ratnam even before pagal nilavu,As he was so impressed with pallavi anu pallavi film and song making,as Ilayaraja has told in some interviews 4-5 years back,So what is the need to introduce Mani ratnam again to Ilayaraja...please clarify the confusing statement by Thiagarajan sir.

Before Pagal Nilavu both the movies by Maniratnam were big flops. Ilayaraja was too busy those days and may be didn't want to adjust his schedule for a failing director.

Illayaraja was a busy music director for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam movies. Maniratnam first two movies were not a success. Also he was directing low cost budget movies. Naturally, the music director is going to offer successful director and Production company.
