This episode of Songbook features singer, songwriter, and producer Taali - otherwise known as Talia Billig. New York-born and raised, Taali wanted to become an artist ever since she first encountered a piano at the age of six. Her imagination and craft have earned her a Grammy Award nomination in the category of Best Arrangement, Instrumental, and Vocals. Her passion for building supportive creative communities has helped her become the co-founder of the record label Rainbow Blonde Records. In 2021, she accepted an offer to be an artist in residence at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, instructing students on songwriting and the intricacies of the music business.
In this episode of Songbook, Taali performs Los Angeles, a song that came into existence thanks to an unusually rainy Californian summer, and Silver Bullet (Song for Sima). Check out the intimate performance recorded at the stunning Van Houtenkerk in the summer of 2021, goosebumps guaranteed!
