Agar koi mujhe dono paintings ek doosre ke bagal me bolta batane which is better, I would have easily said Nikumbh's was better. But in the context of the movie, we have a professional painter in Nikumbh against Ishaan, a kid who just likes to paint without any help from a tutor, because we know ki Ishaan ke baap ne use painting classes nahi karwaye honge. Agar ye context me liya jaaye to, yeah, I would 100% always give the award to Ishaan. Additionally, the scene where he writes the sentence backward, we can see that the rest of the class is able to read it in the mirror as they are saying it out loud. Lekin Ishaan hi ek hai who is not able to recite either the mirrored text or the correct text, which is another great thing about that scene. Finally, I would have loved if you would have been able to mention the name of the artist who drew the last two paintings for Aamir and Darsheel. Hats off to Samir Mondal who was able to paint two completely distinct paintings. Pata hi nahi laga tha ki eh hi aadmi ne paint kiya tha dono ko.

@@deepn2164 I mean, that was pretty obvious that the paintings were from a professional. The movie wanted to prove the point that kids may have any talent within them, all they need is encouragement from those around them, and how cutthroat South Asian society really is. And I think the true winner was RSN, but knowing it (as he is the art teacher so likely his work would be the best within the staff, at least), he secretly relinquished for the second position, being Ishaan. I hope Mondal got credit for the artwork in the credits, though.

i was surprised when people were suggesting taare zameen par for the next roast. the crux of these movie roasts is that they're supposed to be your usual bolly stupid stuff. this was never gonna land cuz anyone could tell that most people would joke about ishan's teeth which is the lowest hanging fruit and/or fail to make the jokes take off at all. even the footage here doesn't land. but still good that it happened! now you and the audience knows exactly what kind of movies to stick with

I watched the original. It's not that it was dark humour and people didn't get it but making sexual jokes about a kid's mouth was very uncomfortable. And maybe since you said that it's your favourite movie and it was hard to find jokes, the jokes just weren't your usual calibre and it seemed like you were reaching a lot. It's great that you have an alternate channel (3side) for edgy humour. i found them funny. but i think for a lot of people, their brains just turns off when they see sexual jokes being made on the expense of kids. ram touching ishan on his hand to make him understand what words feel like was hilarious when you look in a different light. that joke was pretty smart and these things actually do happen to kids in school. my school teacher used to do it and It would made me feel so uncomfortable.

9:05 yes, ishaan's painting was better than Ram's one. Ram painted a potrait which has nothing significant to it, where as Ishaan painting has a unique style to it. I know, aesthetically, some might find Ram's painting more appealing but Artistically, ishaan's painting has more value.

Bro how was that an average painting? He is a little boy and of course his teacher's painting came out better than his did. When I was his age I used to draw half sun in corner of my drawing copy and birdies on top which looked nothing like birds. He in fact did a very good job with colors and his work reflected how his confidence began to grow. I hate to be a wet blanket but criticizing his painting for the heck of it was sordid. Even as someone who isn't a parent, I don't think it was an average painting. Ishan painted his world through that painting. It was a representation of how a dyslexic kids world looks like. It wasn't average. While Ishan failed to express himself, he was capable of expressing himself through his art.

Why would you want to pick a movie that takes more effort from you to make it sound humorous?! 1. It wouldn't make it as funny as you actually are and would want the whole video to be and 2. I did watch the yesterday's revisit. Reading the title I wondered if that movie had enough loopholes to be made fun of the way you do in a such a good way, not to forget the topic that movie touches is also sensitive. And also the fact that it IS your favourite movie as well which does make it even more difficult to poke fun at. Some tiny jokes did land here and there for me. I forgot the painting made by Ishaan because of obvious reason as Ram's painting had the recall value. Today when I saw the painting, it literally blew my mind. Whosoever has drawn that piece of art, deserves a standing ovation! And yes for the first time Only Desi disappointed big time. I didn't find one single joke in the entire revisit laugh worthy but it's okay. It only shows that he is human 😊

The movie represented dyslexia and its issues very accurately. I started reading confidently in my 9th grade. Before that I used to take help from my elder brother. And the unfortunate part is that dyslexia never goes away. It remains forever. There are specific fonts that I can read from a specific distance. The thought process is turned different. I look at things differently. All we do is adapt and twist ourselves to be what the system wants us to be.

Even as someone who isn't a parent, I don't think it was an average painting. Ishan painted his world through that painting. It was a representation of how a dyslexic kids world would look like. It wasn't average. While Ishan failed to express himself, he was capable of expressing himself through his art.
