In this era, teen heart-throbs like Hunter were often encouraged to release songs to cement their appeal with the teenage audience. Hunter was not a trained singer, but his version of "Young Love" and this song helped to propel his career. Likewise, singers such as Elvis Presley, Fabian Forte and Connie Francis were often turned into actors to capitalize on their popularity. To make it big in 1959, it took more than a nice face -- you had to be versatile.

He was so handsome. He had many fine movie roles. He did not have a great voice...the lower register wss painful. But the public loved him.

Such obvious lip synching. But who was paying attention to that? It's very interesting how there is a strong resemblance with Jay North (Dennis the Menace) even though they were years apart age-wise. It shows whenever Tab is smiling.

No. He had a secret relationship with Anthony Perkins. Tab discusses it in detail in his autobiography..
