I'm a classical and fingerstyle guitarist, I went into a practice room once at school cos some of my friends were in there playing electric. I hadn't heard them play before cos we aren't that close. I heard them shred smthn really well, I couldn't do that, and they asked me to play smthn. I played Twilight - Kotaro Oshio they were confused but also impressed. For some reason a lot of people don't realise that electric guitar isn't just for shredding. :D

@ossiehalvorson77022 жыл бұрын
@@alba0411 Honestly I'd be willing to bet most of them just don't know how to use notating software. I've met some great players who couldn't tell you a quarter note from a sixteenth note in what they're playing, and if you don't even know that, you definitely won't know how to subdivide a bar into those beats. Would take them way longer to tab something out, it would basically be through trial and error, so it's probably just not worth it to them.
@ashtonschuler6832 жыл бұрын
@@alba0411 many people can just come up with licks like these on the spot and it would just be a huge annoyance and waste of time to tab it out. As someone who has experience tabbing things out it can be really time consuming and depending on what you’re tabbing out it can be hard to remember exactly what you played if it’s something you just improv. If someone wants to tab something out that’s fine but tabbing things takes away from actual playing time so its definitely not just laziness most of the time
@VodkaSelekta2 жыл бұрын
It's generally pretty easy to learn this stuff by ear. I've done it so much now that it takes me much longer to learn by tab than it does to work it out. I tend to just look at what positions are being used then work out the rest from there. It's also amazing practice for being able to hear a melody and play it back without even thinking about it. I havn't quite got that far yet, as some thinking is still involved.
