Here's the description of my copy all the same. Hares were picking carrots and strawberries. A panda, a monkey, a cat, and a mouse were playing blind mans buff. The blinded monkey pretended to be a monster and Happy thought they all looked like little monsters. An earthquake opens a fault. It even breaks branches off trees. Animals homes fall apart. Tabaluga managed to put a bird's nest back. No-one was seriously hurt. Happy and Digby get to the edge of the crack and a minor shake made them fall in. The place was dark and scary. Digby tripped, lost his glasses, and when he got them back he went off in the wrong direction. As they were getting out Arktos was watching Greenland through his telescope. He thought it was the work of a genius. He wouldn't let James have a turn. When Arktos thought he had some good tricks up his sleeve he was toppled by his telescope and it fell on him. Nessaja and Shouhu were telling the legend of a troll that left a mountain and came across a treasure chest in his travels. In the chest in the middle of the road was riches beyond description. He took it underground and was slaved to guard his beautiful prize. And that was where he remained to that day. It was such a sad story and the troll must be terribly lonely. Digby was telling Buzz what he saw. He said it was a big ugly monster with yellow eyes like a cat. Buzz passed the story on and mentioned fangs like a snake, skin like a toad, and slobbering green slime everywhere. One rabbit said about snoring and grunting. Soon Arktos and James came along giving out some icecreams for free. There were lots of new flavours to try. Arktos gave one to Digby for finding out about the treasure with gold, rubies, diamonds, and sapphires. Arktos thought about making a crown and a necklace. Tabaluga goes back underground to speak to the troll. He tried to crush Tabaluga with a rock. Tabaluga notices something on the Troll's hand. When Tabaluga got out Arktos heard animals saying that the troll was as green as a frog, tall as a giraffe, and as strong as a bull. Arktos and James got too scared to go down. They hear that the troll should be captured and put in a cage. The Greenlanders go on an angry mob. But Happy says to wait for Tabaluga. He was given one day to stop the troll. Happy had made pies with Carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms. She gave them to Tabaluga fresh from the oven. He puts them down underground. Three friends go down and watch. Down inside Tabaluga, Happy and Digby befriend Roly the Troll. They use Shouhu's healing potion to mend the wound. The potion was made from herbs. Arktos and James have hats with lights on them. James went down first so he could flash back if it was safe. He was being noisy as he fell and as Arktos asked him to be quiet he fell in too. He lost his temper and then they lost their way. When they saw Roly they ran away screaming. Roly was invited up. But because he was use to the dark he found the sunlight more blinding than Digby did. They went into the forest on a mushroom hunt. Arktos and James see an opportunity. James wasn't careful on lowering Arktos with the rope. James took a nap. Toadstools may look like mushrooms. But a difference is toadstools are reddish with white spots and would make you sick if you ate them. Are toadstools poisonous? Well Roly thought a flower was a mushroom and sniffing it made him sneeze. A butterfly landed on his nose. When Tabaluga saw James he knew just what was going on. Roly looked into some water and was scared of his own reflection. Arktos only had a few bits of treasure when Tabaluga caught him. Tabaluga tried putting what he could back but Roly thought he was stealing it. When Arktos showed up again Roly realised he had to blame Arktos more than Tabaluga. Arktos tried to freeze Roly but Tabaluga held the ice blast back with his fire. Arktos had to leave the treasure behind to get out. Roly loses his treasure after Arktos fails to take it, but Roly becomes a friend to Greenland. He didn't know why Tabaluga saved him instead of taking the treasure. Well that's what friends are for. Friends are more valuable than treasure. The treasure must have been destroyed by lava in the Earth's mantle. Arktos thought he had a little bit of riches. But it looked more like a rock to James. Stone is less valuable than even silver. A forest is a much nicer place to live than a cave. Roly made funny faces when he next saw his reflection.
