Sansa is the kind of character that sort of sneaks up on you, she's not an obvious choice for a favorite or a hero, and she does start off as an annoying naive girl, but slowly she becomes so much more. That's what I love about her, her story arc is possibly the strongest out of them all, and no one's been through the horrors Sansa had to endure. I'd go as far to say that many of the 'heroes' wouldn't last if they were put in situations which Sansa had to survive. She's been through hell, but never let the attacks break her, she always kept going forward, always surviving and not giving up. If she were a whiny little girl that some people make her out to be, she would've thrown herself off the Red Keep in 2nd season, but with no friends, dead family, traitor's name, constant fear and 13 years of age Sansa chose to live.Yes, she doesn't know how to wield a sword and she has no dragons, but she knows how to survive, so she did the best she could with what she had in situations she was put in. As time goes by, I am becoming more and more positive that she will sit on the iron throne. It's an unexpected underdog type situation. Also George's portrayal of Sansa is based on Queen Elizabeth I, and she was the queen so...hopefully I'm right, no one deserves a win more than she does.

AGREE! That she is just a girl with no sword skill or magic or dragons just emphasizes just how strong she is, and how strong her mental fortitude is. I've always liked Sansa, though I can see why other people don't. Everyone hates a naive teenage girl, ESPECIALLY if she has the audacity to be girly.

People who rubbish Sansa can't be very mature or intelligent... Don't they realise that she was only 13 or 14 when she went to Kings Landing ? . (Not everyone can be like Arya. )..Sansa was a typical young innocent girl who had big dreams like most girls her age . Then she was hurled into an unbearably cruel situation. She had physical and mental abuse then later severe sexual abuse . But she managed to keep it together. I thought she was very wise to play along at Kings Landing otherwise Joffery or Cersei would have had her killed .

Anne Boelyn Exactly. People also forget that she begged for her father's life. Sansa Stark has by far the best characters development in the entire show.

@traveldynaries33865 жыл бұрын
This is exactly my thoughts! They hated her because she's girly and naive. But they have to understand, most girls of that age usually are. Arya is the special case. But people like heroines who like swords more than boys. At first, arya was my favorite too. Bec. her character is the typical fan favorite. The defiant and strong-willed character. Who doesnt bow down to the norm. But going thru all the seasons, sansa's character development is the most amazing development. She is now one of the smartest bravest and cunning character but at the same time, have a good heart, merciful, just and reasonable. The only character that hasnt changed drastically is jon. Aside from dying and being brought back to life. No significant change on his character.

Sansa's storyline closely resembles that of Queen Elizabeth I. And as we all know, she ultimately ended up on the thrones when the Tudors assumed power after The War of the Roses. Sansa and Elizabeth were both unlikely candidates for the throne.

Mississippi Dude hey can you please tell me the similarities/parallels you see between them? I don't mean in this in a rude way I'm just not sure where you're drawing from

Aksangel_ One of their parents were executed as traitors (Ned and Anne). Both of them suffered from cruel rulers (Mary and Joffrey). Both of them had a company of intriguers (Littlefinger and Thomas Seymour). Elizabeth is known as the virgin queen, Sansa is still a virgin in the books, moreover there are seven Starks and seven faces of the god in GoT, each face symbolizes of the Starks, Sansa is considered as the Maiden who is considered as a virgin. And finally, two gingers who love cakes.
@Zarturael6 жыл бұрын
George R.R. Martin had several historical events as inspiration, but it doesn't need to resemble the events exactly, as this still is fiction. Anyway, some parallels that could give away a lot of things, in my opinion: Cersei= Mary I, bloody queen who burns and kills people, not liked by anyone, even hated by her subjects. And her current pregnancy is just a tumor, just like Mary's was in real life. Her "husband" (or will-be-husband) is Euron, who has an armada of ships, just like Philipp of Spain did. (An armada that has to get burned by a redhead queen in a stunning defeat ;)) Daenerys= Mary, Queen of Scots - returning from "exile" into which she was forced for her own safety since she was a baby, just like Mary was in France and returned later on, with a claim to the throne Margaery was a red herring, especially with that Cersei prophecy thing and the sygil of house Tyrell being a Tudor-like rose So, yes, Sansa - the paralles with Elizabeth I are there (unlikely candidate for the throne, parent beheaded while young, imprisoned by Cersei just like Elizabeth was by Mary, etc etc.), and I do believe you are right, she shall be queen in the end and rule alone as Elizabeth did, naming Daenerys' and Jon's child as heir, just as Elizabeth named Mary Stuart's son as heir. And let's be honest, Sansa is a great politician and benevolent ruler, she will herald in a golden age for the Seven Kingdoms just like Elizabeth did in England :)
@diyali.58496 жыл бұрын
Dead Morning But Elizabeth I was the rightful queen since she was the last living Tudor. That's why Mary I put her as her heir in the end anyways. Elizabeth I wasn't really unlikely to be queen. During Mary's dying days everyone expected her to be queen. It was not really a surprise after Mary changed the rules with being the first woman on the English throne by her own right. Elizabeth just succeeded her after the craziness. Yes the Seymour part, or her looks. They fit sure. But Sansa is not a Tudor.
@morning85996 жыл бұрын
Yep, I know that Sansa has less chances to be the rulling queen than Elizabeth had. Moreover, I don't think she will be monarch but I think she will be queen consort because I suppose Tyrion will be the king. But who knows.

I love Sansa she is by far my favorite character. And it always amuses me how the same people who hate on her love Jaime, saying he has a great redemption arc and that's why he's such an amazing person... Which I agree with. I love his development. But remember: he attempted to murder a child in season one, and he was an adult. Sansa lied about the direwolf incident with Joffery, but she was twelve. She was a child. Yes, she told Cersei she didn't want to leave King's Landing, but again: Sansa was a child. She's grown and learned and now she's the Lady of Winterfell. And before any Sansa haters respond, let me remind you that Ned got himself killed by making stupid mistakes. Sansa went to Littlefinger for help because Arya, her own sister, was threatening to murder her. Sansa is a survivor. She's one of the most skilled players in the Game. She will be one of the last ones standing, mark my words.

Sansa was never my favourite, I always found her a bit naive and silly but after watching season 6, she has really found her inner power. I don't think Jon should've gotten all the credit for the battle and overthrowing the Boltons. It was SANSA who convinced him to fight for Winterfell, it was Sansa who saved them from dying at Ramsey's hands. I won't say I understand her motives for not telling Jon that she'd gotten the Knights of the Vale on board but it worked and she needs more credit. I'm rooting for her for Queen in the North when Jon dies, which I think he will. She's my no.2 (after Tormund)

Sansa isn't evil. She gave fair punishment to a monster. She showed mercy to Theon Greyjoy who betrayed their family. She loves and is protective over her family.
@aryankaushik93467 жыл бұрын
Molly Lovekin eh... She has the smarts for the game, but Jon has the heart of a ruler. It's something she just can't have after everything she's been through. Her advising Jon I think would make more sense and work better. And I understand what you mean with the battle, but I think you miss the point. That was a group effort. The wildling arm only came for Jon. The Mormonts probably only came cause of Davos, and the vale came cause of Sansa. Why I give Jon the most credit is because he was head in facing the true force of the battle... I felt more satisfied with him beating the crap out of Ramsay than I did Sansa watching him die (not to say that it wasn't still a great moment).
@namedrop7215 жыл бұрын
Even the Glass of Thrones art gets the battle wrong. The surprise Arryn cavalry was the thing that took them from losing to winning. It wasn’t Stark cavalry, it was because Sansa put up with Petyr’s bullshit (there was lots of handwringing over that) to get the weapon she needed. Lol.
@光ちゃん-v6b5 жыл бұрын
maybe she didnt tell him that she got the knights because it was a last minute decision for her. she kept pressing jon to look for more men. she wasnt even thinking of little finger then because remember he hander her over to her rapist and she told him straight up after they met up that she didnt want to see him again. jon insisted that they had to fight with the army they had and knowing they would lose and ramsay’s brilliance at strategy, she swallowed her disgust of little finger and asked for his help which i think takes a lot of courage as well. she had to ask the man who preyed on her as a little girl and gave her to a cruel man just so she can win back winterfell.

From a wide eyed and idealistic girl to a resilient and cunning queen, Sansa quietly forged her strength amidst the chaos of Westeros. While some characters in the series showcased their power through sword fights and overt displays of strength, I think Sansa's journey was a testament to the power of endurance and adaptability. Her initial naivety and dreams of a fairy tale life in the capital were brutally shattered, but instead of crumbling, she grit her teeth and learned to navigate the treacherous political landscape. Her transformation into a queen was subtle yet profound. She faced betrayal, loss, and unimaginable hardships, but each challenge became a stepping stone towards her growth. Her ability to play the long game, manipulate situations from behind the scenes, and understand the complexities of ruling set her apart. In the end, Sansa's coronation as the ruler of the independent North felt like a well deserved culmination of her journey. She wasn't a queen who sought attention or reveled in grand gestures; her strength was in her resilience and wisdom. Sansa Stark, in my opinion, stands out as a true queen at heart, proving that power comes in many forms, and sometimes, the most potent strength lies in quiet transformation and enduring grace. I'm only upset that Lady didn't make it to be by her side. I named my dog after Lady. 🥲

I showed this video to my boyfriend and his sister who hated Sansa. After seeing this, it got them to like her a bit and want to root for her journey. I think videos like these are not only really well made, but can be enlightening to those who have forgotten or hadn't really noticed the individual struggles these characters have faced. With these videos, it brings to light those struggles and highlights the characters change, their growth. They touted Sansa as still being that annoying girl from season one, but your video showed thrm how much she's grown and changed, the suffering she went through that helped her become strong, even without the power to weild a sword or dragons. Lady Sansa of the North deserves respect, and I applaud your video for converting 2 haters to empathizers.

My favorite character, even before she found salvation writing-wise on the show. I mean really the way GRRM wrote her in the books was so slow and gradual but very interesting to read, the way she learned how to use court behavior (courtesies), tears, lies, and in the future sexuality to further her goals. She was never a warrior, but she used what she had to survive and I think that's the true character of a fighter. "Sansa could sew, dance, and sing," Arya said, who sews with Needle, practices the Water Dance of Syrio Forel and sings of lies as No One. Their parallels for such polar opposites make them such smartly written characters. And both of them are still alive.
