My grandpa got me a A guitar because I asked for one and all he asked for was for me to learn a song he could sleep to:) he’s always wanted to play guitar but was born with two fingers missing on his left hand so he could never play, he was so happy when I asked for one and the smile on his face when I played this song was worth spending an hour to learn it. So thank you for making this. Edit: Small update, my grandpa passed away a few months ago, me and my family took the loss hard but I still played for him one last time before he passed. I had learned more songs etc etc but I still played this one, just one more time, it was the first he ever got to hear me play and sadly the last. I love my grandpa to death and still am doing my best to keep on getting better for him

The first song I've learned after 3 weeks of playing guitar. Took me 10 days, and i can now play this whole song. 15 minutes a day is all it took. Break it into sections. And then just put them together. It is so much easier for me to memorize tabs than it was for sheet music when i played Alto sax. Thank you!

That's great! Me too, i just learn guitar for a month, now my hands feel like rubber, it's not hurt anymore. But i have a very big problem is the F chords, i learn new song very fast, but that F chords is stopping me from keep going and learn new song. I was thinking about leave it. But i found this song easy and i start to learn it, it give me alots of joy and motivation to keep practicing, learning. Now i can play the F chords! All thanks to this song!

I started playing guitar in 7th grade because of my uncle, i loved hearing him play when I went over to his house and I always wanted to learn so I started taking a class in middle school to get started and I played until high school when they stopped the classes but I did play on my own every now and again but my depression got really bad and I put up my guitars because I never had the motivation to play them and it all felt to draining for me to do or learn, especially since I still wasn’t great. I put down the guitar almost 6 years ago now. This ain’t a sad story though because slowly I started to heal myself, I spent a lot of my time with close friends but also alone to recalibrate and figure out what it was I loved and wanted and after 8 years of major depression, 3 attempts and a lot of internal searching resulting in some painful and traumatic discoveries, I picked up my guitar again and played (if you wanna call it that haha 😂) this song and I realized how much I missed it, the slicing of my fingers and indents from playing so long. The ache of my hands and neck from focusing in one spot so long. The moments of pure ecstasy and joy when you finally play it and it sounds exactly like when you hit play on the song, It all made me realize how much I loved playing and I just wanted whoever reads this to know that even though times are hard, one day you will find yourself doing the things you used to love so much and you will feel that sense of peace and joy and love fill your soul. It will fill you so full you might burst into tears but those are the moments that we live for, our purpose to keep going. It’s the little things in life that will help you realize just how wonderful this world can be. Please keep going, keep your chin high and regardless of what comes your way just know that better days do lie ahead maybe not in the way you thought, but in the way you needed ❤

I got a new guitar for Christmas, my very own this time, it took me until today to start playing again since I didn't like the strings it came with, but they're actually not bad, it just took some getting used to :)

I know my comment isn't going to be the song, but I want to share a quick little story about playing the guitar. I have been playing since December of 2022 and still learning the basics from borrowing books at the library to videos like this. A church that I go to have mostly elders so some elders talk to me about what they had listened to in the 60s and 70s, but one elder in particular kept me going with guitar as I was having trouble finding songs to learn and want to step out of my comfort zone by trying new stuff rather than Imagine Dragons. This elder and I were talking about different kinds of music and this was when they decided to tell me about how much they loved "The Beatles" and if I knew any songs from them that I would consider learning. I happily said yes and asked them if they wanted me to learn "Yesterday". They said yes and we parted ways. The next time we went to church, I showed them the song and was complimented on how I was almost playing correctly and that I needed to rearrange certain parts(I didn't take this rude, they were giving advice nicely). I told them that I would figure out my mistake and show them on the day of Bible Study. They said it would be fine, as long as they could sing along. The day comes and I'm feeling confident and proud for the little performance. When I told to show them, I was not expecting an extra four people. I was a bit nervous when everyone had started to quiet down to hear me that I messed it up a little bit and quickly got back on track. I guess I did a good job because I had gotten applause from all five people in the room. A little while later on a regular Sunday, we had enough time to watch a little of Eddie and the Cruisers which is a movie about a guy who plays guitar and all that stuff about bands. During the movie, I was told by the elder "Cruella fan, that could be you soon!" And then everyone was joking about how there would be a movie about me and my guitar. Sorry it took me a little long to tell a simple story, I just thought it would be nice to share.
