Suffering from a bad cold that makes whatever she says magically happen, Tabitha (Lisa Hartman) 'flattens' Russian bodybuilder Vasily Kasiroff (Peter Palmer) into a poster. Dr. Bombay (Bernard Fox) is called in to help!
From Season 1 Episode 2 'Tabitha's Weighty Problem' - Tabitha seems to have a cold in her nose, and just before she sneezes whatever she last said happens. Also, her witchcraft is on the fritz. Her station is doing the on-site reporting for a weight lifting tournament for ABC Wide World of Sports and Tabitha gets to be the escort for an amorous Russian weight lifter. When Tabitha says that she'll flatten him after another advance from him, she sneezes and he is flattened and winds up in a poster. Dr. Bombay shows up and diagnoses her with an allergy. Tabitha is cured and the Russuian returns and wins the contest.

ABOUT TABITHA: A young, inquisitive female witch who enjoys leading a normal mortal life is the central character of this romantic fantasy series. Tabitha is the story of the bewitching Samantha's daughter, who has grown up. It's 1977 and Tabitha (Lisa Hartman), 22, is lovely, high-spirited and works as a TV production assistant. Tabitha's brother Adam (David Ankrum), the TV station's assistant manager, who is a mere mortal and constantly afraid the world will find out his sister is a witch, urges her to put away her witchy ways and live a normal life. But Tabitha's eccentric Aunt Minerva (Karen Morrow), an attractive witch in her mid 30s, takes her duty as Tabitha's guardian seriously, and encourages Tabitha to use her gifts for fun and profit, much to Adam's chagrin. The reason Dr Bombay didn’t appear to age is the short time between the end of the original Bewitched and the start of Tabitha (only five years); from what I’ve read, that’s why the show failed.

Except for the time he tried to cure Darren's cold and the side effect raised his voice to a falsetto. Then the voice lowering pill made him mute, leaving him no choice but to give him a glass of "Catch a Cold". Never practice on mortals!

This was a show I both loved and hated at the same time. If the timelines were correct in the late '70's Tabitha would only be 16 years old, and Adam is her younger brother. "Bewitched" will always be my favorite magical situation comedy.

Of course Dr. Bombay didn't respond! They got the incantation wrong. It goes: "Calling Dr Bombay... calling Dr. Bombay... Emergency! Come right away!" He will then immediately appear despite being in the midst of dolphin racing or elephant polo.

No Aunt Minerva. Samantha was an only child. Andora had on one sibling brother Arthur. We have to assume all Samantha's Aunts are Maurice's sisters. These would be Tabitha's Great Aunts. OR Super Assume Minerva is just called Aunt (a friend of the family of unknown history).

I would like to see a creation of the Tabitha series using CGI to re-create the original characters. Witches on Bewitched are supposed to be very long-lived and they should still be around after Tabitha grows up. Also, it should take place in the 1980's. Tabitha would be too young to have a career in the '70's. Also, I want the series recreation to be faithful to the original spirit of the story and not push politically correct b.s. down viewers' throats.

The entire thing was doomed from the start. One of them, maybe the first episode or the different pilot, even gets the spelling of Tabitha wrong. Everything else is wrong. Bewitched's magic was over: the idea of a blended family was being done in the more realistic sitcoms like All in the Family and Jeffersons. Magical shows and fantasy were OUT and even so, this was badly done no matter what. It's not funny, relevant, meaningful or entertaining. It's clunky and badly acted. They have Adam a mortal (he was not!) and older than Tabatha (he was not). What a mess.
