I have just begun my curly girl journey last week. I am 38 and believed my entire life that I had lifeless straight hair. I decided to try the curly girl method recently to see how it would turn out and I am floored. I was initially skeptical but I am a true believer now. I have genuine 2a - 2b waves like I never would have imagined. Even though my hair is in the transition phase and looks more frizzy than it did before, I am still loving the results I am seeing and I can't wait to see what it will look like in months/years from now. My hair feels like it has more life and volume to it and I love it!

I'm 46 and I just found out my hair is wavy, like a couple of weeks ago. Would always fight frizz while blowdrying and when it was humid - there was one section that would refuse to be blowdried straight, right on top of my head, so I thought what would happen if I just scrunched it with some product? Bought some random product and got amazing curls that look like yours. Now I'm on a journey, bought more things, a diffuser, and exploring this new me.

I live in Tokyo and recently got a perm. Months before getting the perm my hairdresser said I already had wavy hair so I probably didn’t need a perm. But I dismissed her comment. Now that I have a perm and researching how to look after curly hair I’m realizing I probably do have naturally wavy hair 😬. Now I have to wait months (only had it for a month) for it to grow out to see if I do have wavy hair. Thanks for sharing your story.

The similarities between your hair and mine are uncanny. Thank you for sharing your method, always very insightful. It would be great to see your hair journey over a week - how often you end up refreshing, styles you might do when you don't have time to wash/refresh. Looking for an honest perspective and ideas on how to manage wavy hair, I'm assuming you too have days of not perfect hair which would give a fellow wavy girl some solace haha :)

This! This is my story as well but I’m 47 😆 during the pandemic I’ve been watch many more KZbin videos.. I stumbled on a video on here and realized my ever frizzy poofy hair that was often super snarly could possibly have natural bends to it. Tried a few of the techniques I learned and low and behold I do indeed have wavy/curly hair. Who knew?! 💁🏽♀️

Love your natural wave pattern now and the lightened color is beautiful but you looked absolutely adorable in that picture @ 19:34 Seriously such a great look! I get why you liked dark hair. I've also always been super experimental with my hair and have gone through every phase of cut and color and am only now starting to finally embrace my natural waves instead of fighting against them lol. These videos have been very helpful so thank you 😊

I’ve always had silky soft smooth hair but when I’m swimming or at the beach, i see little waves in certain lumps. Once i comb it, it’s back to silky straight ish again. I’m 37 now and decided to try this out. And yes. I’m a type 2a wavy girl 😂 i love it. But it is a lot more work compared to my usual wash, comb and airdry smooth hair

I always wanted to have curly hair instead of the frizzy puffy mess on my head. Turns out I always had waves, but kept ruining them for 30 years :| I also discovered that randomly, via tik-tok video. It's reassuring that others were also struggling figuring out their hait. I'm at that weird stage where it's definitely more curly than a month ago, but still doesn't look particularly good. Better than before, but now that it curls more it looks like I have less of it, (not just shorter) not sure how to explain. Any advice on that?
@sirenelectric1434 жыл бұрын
Am I the only one that has two hair patterns? Both my parents have wavy/curly hair and so does my brother but I always assumed I just got “straight” frizzy hair. KZbin started recommending these “I didn’t know my hair was wavy videos” and so I thought I would give it a try (turns out when I put product in my hair it has 2a/2b waves) now the big c waves around my baby hairs make sense! But I struggle because the bottom half of my hair has waves even when it dries with no product bu t the top layer of my hair is soooo difficult to get any waves in it, even with products it never waves from the root only from halfway to the tips. It makes me question if I don’t actually have wavy hair? Just wondering if anyone else deals with this...I know it’s possible to have two or more curl patterns, and my top layer may also be the most damaged and that maybe why. It’s just very discouraging to try to keep at my hair journey because sometimes I feel I may be forcing my hair to do something it doesn’t want to
@tabithagingerich4 жыл бұрын
It could be a number of things, I wouldn’t give up yet! If you have a wave or curl pattern that’s natural, then it’s normal for it to be inconsistent. It could be damaged like you said, or maybe add some layers if your hair is all one length?

This might be a random question, but when you get your hair cut what do you ask for?? I never know what o ask for that will benefit my curly/wavy hair (which is actually very similar to yours!!) to prevent the "triangle look" LOL
@tabithagingerich4 жыл бұрын
This is actually one of my most asked questions 😁 we start with a blunt cut (slightest angle to the front) and then I ask for lots of texturizing and some discreet hidden layering. (Layers within the hair)
