@@TruAbsoluteZer0 I changed it from all characters to 1 character since you’d only have 1 don left to play with so realistically you’re only giving rush to 1 character anyway, everything else on the board can already attack. But either way I don’t even think it’s that crazy tbh since Sanji already does that for free.

if removal is black and blues ability, then i think it would be cool if red was more enhancing. Like have cards that gain buffs when your ops have reduced power. Something like "If your Op has a character with reduced power, this character gains +2000" or "If your Op has a character with reduced power, This character cannot be removed by effects" Something like that You still build red around Power reduction, but its not about be a weaker removal system. its more aggressive

Blue stuff has been nerfed form the very beginning. Triggers on events are nerfed and everything is carefully looked at and worded to make blue average. Blue only has 1 8 cost super rare in aramaki which isn't even good. The only card to deal with cards 8 or higher is red roc which is 4 chances to bottom deck all of the huge threats, moria, kid, zoro etc. We still dont have a body that deals with anything big. Op01 mihawk? 9 cost bottom a 7 or lower? Who cares 8 or higher stuff is dominating and even with op08 we still dont have anything. If they watched and controlled all colors like they control blue this game may actually be stable. I bet all the stuff in op09 buggy gets leader locked even if it ends up being mid at best.

OP04 & OP04.5 aka post-restriction/ban list. A lot of people skipped OP04 since a ban list was around the corner so when most mention OP04 they're usually referring to OP04.5. If you forget though then it's easy to misattribute his death to Rebecca when in reality it was the ban list hitting Nami, Dadan & Rad Beam. In OP04.5 after the restriction list went into effect he only got 4 top 8 placings when prior to the ban list he had 30+ which is an 87%+ drop in performance. By the time we went into OP05 & the restriction list finally lifted Saka & Gecko were here so it was too late for Law."

I’ve seen a lot of speculation that the Shanks Leader ability can be used on your turn or your opponent’s turn on your opponent’s attack due to the wording of his effect. Compare to the Bonney Leader effect and purple baroque works character effects.

RP Law's effect should have required you to return active DON, because being able to spend DON to play a character, then using that same spent DON to both remove AND play another character is ridiculous value.

According to op topdecks, op01 law has way more tops than rebecca during op01. As a matter of fact, there was an emergency ban list at the tail end of op04 that specifically hit law and whitebeard with the banning of nami, whitebeard and dadan and the restriction of marco.

I could see Rosinante beating Sanji. Sugar can ruin their curve (they have to run Robin to deal with it, and stops their curve play anyway), gravity blade deals with anything 6 or less they can establish, it runs mid range blockers for Ace double attack, once you get to Kid then they have to deal with that and cant easily abuse banish luffy. Are they going to run heavy cost reduce to beat Kid? Maybe they'll have to. Rosi loves anything that just attacks into it

Red, Purple, Blue, Green lagging behind yellow and black. To fix - Red minus power until your next turn. Stop printing rush for yellow. Purple should be able to manipulate opponent don and burn life. Blue - More Bottom deck ability on top end characters Green - More cards that freeze rested characters. Or when attacking abilities that rest cards

I play only red, I love rush but I struggle with reducing big cards and getting rid of them late game. And I hate that vs Black, everything I KO just comes back. So more permanent KO or bottom decking or something that doesn't count as "an Effect" like versus the Hawkins

Red needs a rusher top end that K.Os a 9k body to counter Moria and 9c Yamato. They struggle with removing other top ends while getting their top end instantly removed by black. They could also get a red version of Ennies lobby that -2000 power every turn to set up K.O.s this would help PRB-001 Sanji and other red leaders control board while going aggro. Btw Sanji isnt that good in the meta, Lucci removes everything on his board. He is a solid tier 1.5. He also struggles with kalgara and Law a bit and other decks that go wide since Sanji always plays on curve and doesn't have many ways to establish a board before his characters get K.O'd. A cool way they can also help red is by making a 5c 6k 1k counter rusher that can put another rusher cost 4 or less on the field to help red get around blockers and apply pressure and late game pressure since a lot of decks have large hand sizes by the endgame now.

I have to say I expect RP law to do basically the same thing it's doing now in 08. Black Maria doesn't solve the fundamental problems of the deck. It's super high roll. You have to draw many unsearchable combo pieces to do anything, and if you don't see a reiju, you just die. Like you have all the don in the world but if you have nothing to do with it what does it matter. If it does anything more, it will be because of hype/Eastern bandwongoning, and it will probably settle down soon after.

In o5 red not dominating any more, Saka being the undisputed best deck that gate keeoin the format for 7 months, opo7 without Saka being more diverse,etc like it's hard to dispute that it's a bandwagon thing vs. consistent data

I think the big reduce-power top end for Red makes sense, but reducing to 0 would be too broken I think. I'd say a balanced but still really good card would be a 🔴10c 10k that On Play: reduce all your opponent's characters to 4k power until the end of their next turn. That way they still have some agency, but they have to attach 1 DON!! to each of their characters to swing lead. The benefits to you are also pretty lit as well, since they have to 2k counter out of your leader swing that turn, and if you have any attach rested don effects on board, you can load up 5c Pell or 5c Chaka and do some even bigger swings/pop effects. Solid

The other 10 drops like blue WB, green Doffy, purple Kaido, etc steal the opponent’s combat from them and even smaller bodies like 8c Sabo, 8c Gecko, 8c Kid prevent interaction altogether or clear board so I think it’s more than fair for red to get a 10c that prevents combat for a turn and even allows the opponent to counter play by loading don onto their leader or 0 power characters and still swinging. Yellow’s top end even offsets an attack by healing with 10 Mom & 10 Ace so it’d be dumb if red still had to go negative by countering out of attacks when yellow is literally going +1. I also would never spend 10 don to lower everything to 4k, that’s just a bad card.

Reducing to 0 does more than prevent your opponent from swinging the following turn, it's essentially a board wipe if you are even somewhat wide and have 2 to 4k bodies and most of your opponent's characters are rested. Sure you have to swing into them, but it's still essentially a 10c Purple Kaido that with some extra steps pops your opponents board and not yours (without the DON!! minus effect I might add). I would go as low as lowering everything to 3k, but even that would be pretty cracked. 2 cards to counter out of every 5k swing?? and they need to invest 1/5 of their DON!! for any character to have a chance at taking your life. Also Doffy only freezes 3 characters/leaders, so you could still have 3 live potentially. With the proposed 0-power effect, your opponent loses EVERYTHING. That's twice as powerful as an already powerful card, which is way too much. Thoughts?

Ace is the only viable card really leaning into the precedent that has been established by red. If WB & his support had been printed purple he would’ve played exactly the same despite not being red so I’m going to have to hard disagree. Only difference would’ve been blast breath over radical beam. In the 5 sets WB existed prior to OP07, only OP06 RushBeard leaned into the red playstyle. Every other iteration of WB from BoatBeard to StrawBeard has just played on curve which red does not do. Just try to name 1 other red leader after OP02 that has played like that. If it’s unique to him then it’s his identity, not the identity of his color.

@@SmallHatCrew which viable build are you referring to? I’m not up to date with whitebeard builds but he has jozu, luffy, and ace who all have rush. There’s even that new op07 rush dragon that I can see being fun to use. Then there’s makino who lets you hit with your 1c characters. I feel like those are all pretty red oriented strats. When I take thematics into account, the deck feels even more appropriate bc whitebeards crew does everything they can to support him, including sacrificing themselves, so that he can lead the way as the worlds strongest.
