Table Saw Sleds with Acrylic / DIY : kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJWmhoObjc6bY5Y 3D Modeling Blueprint : kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKu4gJ6jgd6Ho5Y After using Bosch's portable table saw, GTS 10XC, I finally used the table saw of the casting body. It feels like I've replaced my previous compact car with a large sedan. I like it even though it's not a slide table saw. Actually, sliding products seem to be too expensive. The saw machine is thousands of dollars. I work a lot on making idea products with small materials, so I thought small size was enough, but when I saw the new product, I wondered how I had worked so far. I was so happy that I decided to apply new systems to the table saw. There must be a reason for everything I've done so far, but I wanted to put that aside and try new things. The first is the upper dust collection system made of transparent acrylic. The purpose was to minimize fine dust flying toward the worker's face, and to make it transparent to secure a view. You can check this process in other videos. kzbin.info/www/bejne/foHXYn-LmrN9i5o The second one is the table saw sled. This is an item that 99% of table saws make and use by themselves. It is a necessary aid to safely cut small components. I made it with transparent acrylic. There are many advantages. First of all, it's transparent, so you can see the blade of the table saw very clearly. It means that you can work more comfortably and safely. And because of the nature of the material, it is less sensitive to changes in moisture and temperature than wood. There is little deformation through contraction or expansion. This also increases accuracy. The lower rail also uses metal, so there is little clearance. Some of you might be worried that the dust will stick to you because of static electricity, as you can see from the video, the dust on the wood hardly sticks. There is a smooth double-sided tape attached to the bottom, so there is no static electricity when moving. The metal plate on the floor also holds static electricity. Although it weighs about 20% more than trees of the same size, the sled shows more stable movement. It's not hard to do a round trip at all. Please refer to the production process and I hope more people make it and use it. It's a gift for everyone in the world who loves DIY and woodworking. Thank you.

So beautiful! Like an art, never wanna use it 😂. Only looking, no touching allowed 😂

Sometimes I have that thought too. Should I not use it and just use it for display? But all equipment and tools seem more valuable when they are dirty. I will use it diligently. thank you!

Beautiful work! I love the way it looks. I will warn you, I learned recently that acrylic will create enough static for the sawstop table saw to activate. Make sure you don't have that haha

I would like to thank you for giving me a new perspective. Is that why I instinctively hate Sawstop table saws? Hahaha! It's true. I don't like sawtop table saws. It's an amazing product, but in my opinion The product may be damaged by a very careless operator, It seems useful in cases where workers are pushed to their limit with the goal of mass production. I think all woodworkers should be careful enough not to touch the saw blade. SawStop does not provide assistance in other situations, such as situations where the saw blade breaks or kickback occurs. So, I still don't feel the need for that product. This is also due to the price range of the cartridge and the deformation of the table saw that occurs when the cartridge operates. Thank you for your words.

@@Kynosys_ I actually have one, but I have some extra problems with my health, so if something ever goes wrong, I have an additional safety feature that I can use to ensure that I don't get too hurt. I do understand the trepidation of diving into new tech. I wish. I could afford the new Felder machine that does the same thing without destroying the blade!!

After reading it again, I think my reply may be a bit aggressive. I would like to express that I do not intend to do so at all. I understand and support you and all the machines you use. I hope you have a happy year where everything you wish for comes true. I would like to express my sincere gratitude.

@@Kynosys_ Agreed. It just makes people be less careful because they figure the safety system will protect them. On KZbin, pretty much the first thing everyone does is remove all of the saw's safety features because they aren't trying to be careful anymore. That's just stupid.

Looks cool, but the cost of material doesn't substantiate any performance or safety to use it over wood

As for the risks associated with equipment made from new materials, safety-related issues should always be carefully reviewed, as you suggested. However, thanks to the weight of the acrylic and the precision of the rails, my sled will not twist. Just because you own a Porsche, there doesn't seem to be a practical rule that says you can't drive a Ford. Of course I don't own a Porsche. The acrylic sled is the Porsche of my workshop. Of course, I also use a lot of sleds made of wood. thank you!
