This is one of the best examples of a T1 workbench mobile base I've seen. Great build brother! Have the plans or scetchup file for sale?

Great build. How's it holding up after a while? I'm looking for ideas to improve my Ridgid clone I just bought. I like the idea of shifting the fence rails to increase your rip capacity without increasing the overall width. I guess it only cuases an issue if you want to cut with the fence on the left, which I have never done myself. A dropdown extension on the left side will give plenty more support when needed. I've heard some gripes about the two piece angle iron causing problems with alignment issues during and after seutp, so I'll probably just go buy long pieces to replace them right out of the gate.

@johndoe6032 holding up fine. Should have used 2x3 for the bottom bracing instead of 2x4 to clear a hump in my concrete.

How will you address the saw dust that usually falls through the bottom of cabinet?

Take the back off and clean it periodically. Usually do it once a year or so.

I was thinking of doing something like this because I'm short like 5'5 5'7 and the saw at 37 and my out feed being that high kinda was not what I wanted I prefer a 33in bench

I'm 6' but wanted a lower bench because it doubles as my assembly table.

Great job on the table. I was considering shifting my fence rails but eventually decided on the 52” To keep the left cutting area. I will be heavily leaning on your design for my own!!

What did you use for pucks for the saw mounting?

Nice build and I like it. I though that was a Woodsmith router lift and was going to ask about it, but after watching I see that it is. Do you like it? Also Have a question on the threaded inserts for the casters. Why did you use them? Again nice build!

It works and didn't cost $400 like the Jess-em. The inserts hold better than lag bolts.

What casters are you using for this? They don't look like anything I've seen before.

Well done! I was thinking of building something very similar to this before watching your video. Anything you would do differently? Do you feel that the 2x4 platform on the bottom is required with the standoff casters?
@averagediyguy2503
@averagediyguy2503 7 ай бұрын
I'd use regular butt joints instead of Kreg pocket holes. It just doesn't look good. The frame is to keep the whole thing straight. My last one buckled causing me to add one after construction.

What is the diameter of the pucks? I am going to build a very similar base for my 36-725 and I don’t want to take it apart to get the inside diameter if I don’t have to. That is awesome and it looks great too. The only complaint that I have with mine is the single kick down caster. I have actually dropped my saw twice with that stupid thing.

I used a 2 1/2 inch hole saw. I made 8 total, 2 for each leg and I used a carriage bolt to bolt them down.
