Thanks for the video. I actually saw the old one first. I wish i did two days ago when struggling with Tableau for the first time. You got a new sub here, studying to become a data scientist with a flavor of data analyst.

Thank you - the old one is very popular, and does the job, but there are a handful of small changes though, hence the update! Glad it helped! :)

Great video. Thank you for the update. So, basically, the containers make it sort of like a responsive design and can "self-adjust" to any device without having to specify the device type/dimensions in Tableau?

Right - Although containers have their limitations, they help account for different screen sizes, etc. You can also set different layouts for different devices, to, but too much to cover in one video. :)

Hi, I have a question, how can you click on the each month and the data automatically change based on months without create a parameter?

Hi there - I believe you can use a visualization to control a parameter. There would be one extra step to add a parameter action to the visualization you want to change the month. I cover interactivity here, and there's a section on parameter actions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqC9pXqto9itqdU

Wonderful video. Gives us more progress in a few minutes than some courses in a day! One complaint: you are making me seasick whipping that cursor around all the time. Slow down!

Hi there - the data for this dashboard is from Kaggle. This link is in the video description, but you'll need to copy/paste because KZbin doesn't allow live links. :) www.kaggle.com/datasets/mojtaba142/hotel-booking

am working on a project where I need to create an infographic PDF using data from a JSON source. I plan to use Tableau for data visualization and integrate it with the Tableau API to generate the final PDF. Given your expertise in this area, I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the best approach to achieve this. Specifically, I would like to understand: How to properly structure and prepare my JSON data for use in Tableau. The process of creating visualizations in Tableau and publishing them to Tableau Server or Tableau Public. How to use the Tableau API to fetch these visualizations programmatically. The best methods or libraries for converting the fetched visualizations into a PDF document. If you have any examples, resources, or tips that could help me, I would be extremely grateful. Your insights would be invaluable to ensuring the success of this project. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

There's a lot to unpack here! Rows/columns are the best for Tableau - keep the JSON simple without any nesting, or use a text file (CSV, tab/pipe separated, etc.) if you can do that. Generally long, thin files are more efficient than short and wide. You can print to a PDF directly from Tableau - that would be my preferred method rather than trying to extract the visuals with a program and load them somewhere else. Here's a link on printing: help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/printing.htm

You just need to open Tableau and connect it to the Excel workbook. :)
