At 1:39:30 if you are using Windows and are stuck on trying to do custom split, go onto the sheets tab and on the left side under "Tables" right click on "height" and click "transform" and "custom split" Hope this helps!

GUYS I FOUND A SOLUTION!! if you cant union and get stuck here 1:34:18 you NEED TO UNION ENGLISH WITH ITSELF FIRST! it works perfectly! first drag english set into the white space, then drag it again onto itself so it unions with itself, THEN YOU DRAG NON ENGLISH onto them and TA DAAAAAA! it works! make sure you check the number of rows the way Shashank did here 1:34:46🔥🔥

2:09:00 you should right click the English Players Union, open it and then you can now proceed to join the 1-32 page Union with the English and Non-English Players Union.

Shashank your channel is the bomb. Please keep this up. There is very little in the way of actionable Data Analysis teaching content. I'm having the same problem Adem had above.. I receive an error when joining the PDF data to the English Players. Tableau asks me to edit and create a relationship instead. It seems KZbin may have blocked Shashank's comment's ? bc they are all unreadable UGH.. including where he answered this question above.. so if anyone has the answer to this please kindly post it instead of replying my question. 2:47:24 After creating my club filter for top teams, the bar for club in filters turns red and so does my value bar in the marks card. Hovering over both bars shows "Data sources that contain logical tables cannot be used as secondary data sources for data blending." I've tried redoing the blending step so see where I messed up, but haven't found anything.

Hi , if you are facing this issue I believe you have Data blend as a primary source. you just need to bring club field of data blend into to the filter option as well as into the details under the MARKS, now you need get the value from secondary data source that is English player into the Size Mark. (The reason for this error is, you cannot use non aggregative fields from secondary datasource that are not in the primary datasource. hope this helps)

I followed along with the video and the only time I got an error during the parameter section which said : "Data Sources That Contain Logical Tables Cannot Be Used As Secondary Data Sources For Data Blending" and it seems to do with difference between Joins and Relationships ? Other than that it was well explained.

The exercise at 02:58:00, in the pdf i saw that there is one extra column on marks card (id variable on detail). And when I try to use index while this id variable on the detail, all i get is only the indexes of position groups which are: Defensive Players 1 Midfield Players 1 Forwards 1 but there aren't any other index for any players in any position group. But when I remove the id variable it becomes identical the one you did in the video. Can you explain the situation over there? What do I get when I put the ID variable into the detail mark section and why do I get the intended result only when I remove that variable?

There is a bug that removed the "Split" option mentioned in Section 3. If you are using Tableau Public the option wont be there for you and you will have to do it in the Work Sheet.

Just go to the worksheet, right click on the Height dimension and you will see custom split.

Hi Shashank. Does tableau public still allow us to import a PDF? Now it is saying the file type is not supported on the web. It says to connect to it in the tableau desktop and then to publish to the server. The Connect to Data pane looks very different now from your tutorial. Any feedback or idea? Thank you for this wonderful course! At 2:00:30 you were talking about the editing axis. We reached the final axis by edit the axis and uncheck "include zero". I know it is not possible for our case but what if we had an outlier value that is close to 0 height and 0 weight, wouldn't the figure's axis stay the same as the beginning to show all values including the outlier one too. So how can I overcome this issue when I face outlier values in my data?

Drag and hover the non english players table over the english players (dont drop the table yet), Tableau will display Union option, now drop the non english player that you have been holding into the Union option displayed, et voila

Hey Hemant! I think that it depends on the specific task, but yes generally you want your data as clean as possible before coming into Tableau.

whats your opinion on tableau in relation to obsolescence? i've worked for a couple startup companies that want dashboards for daily updates, but if i setup those systems i wont get paid the same because my hours will drop.

I’ve always viewed work like that as an opportunity to do something more interesting. On one hand you have the valid point that automating that work will in the short-term reduce the hours you work, in the long term I see it as an opportunity to build good will with the company and expand the scope of your work. I’ve always been in favor of working to obsolete myself and move forward because if I don’t someone else will

Yes, there is. Might be worth changing the google drive doc just to be consistent. Overall I thought it was a good overview of Tableau's main features. In the beginning, I'd probably spend a couple of minutes explaining the first dataset so that students have a good understanding of what they're working with. Otherwise, good job!

@@account-nh7mh Thank you for the feedback. I've gone ahead and added that column to the dataset. Normally Tableau will autogenerate that column but you're the second person that's mentioned Tableau not doing that. I'll be sure to more fully explain the datasets in future tutorials.
