He he! the right tutorial at the right time! Thank you for sharing :) LE: I used this tutorial to filter my data by the last X available days (which are with gaps in my data set). If I have 23Feb, 3Mar, 10Mar and 15Mar, the last 2 available days are 10&15Mar. First I transformed the dates into integer then wraped it into a Fixed calculation at date level in order to obtain a metric which will be the base value for Top N. Since the dates are always increasing, then my fake metric is also always increasing and it doesn't matter the by how much compared to a previous day. Thus I am using the "weight" of the date in the Top N.

Can I ask on more detailed condition ? I'm trying this but added 1 more filter of [Year], but seems like this parameter only works ABOVE the [Year] filter, which means, I want to find out top10 & bottom10 of each years, but the result of [Year] filter >> only filters AFTER the Top N, so only includes of 2~3 at last... can you help me how to change the filteration order ?

Great tutorial, worked very well. Thank you! When I try to add an additional filter though (to see the same result, but only for a particular year), the view gets distorted and Tableau disregards the number given in the parameter control section on the right. Is there a workaround for this?

Good explain! How to make the final top histogram at the right side and bottom at the left side? Mine just show at the same side. Thank you!
@wllymchng4 жыл бұрын
You're set parameters may be set up incorrectly. By nature of the profit field...the bottom should be negative values and the top should be positive...so if you're correctly pulling both range of values, they should never be on the same side? If they are, to me...that sounds like you are pulling data that have nothing but the same direction of values.

This picks top N rows and makes a data set. How to pick all rows carrying top N values in a column of entire data set? e.g. values are 90 5 times, 89 5 times - this method picks only 10 rows and values are 90 and 85 - these are top 2 values - looking for top 10 values
