I admit it. I get a little flustered every time the Gatekeeper shows up during someone's turn and asks who is next, the person whose turn it currently is puts up their hand.

I'm with you, he says, "whose turn is it NEXT", it's a fairly simple instruction to follow

Irks me every time. "Stop!" (Current players turn is "Turn is Null and Void") "Whose turn is it next?" (Current player raises hand) um... You're playing the game wrong... Your turn ended when he said stop. :/

So, next they have the expansions for this game, which are two "Booster Tapes" that increase the difficulty, and The Soul Rangers. Then they have Atmosfear: The Gatekeeper and Atmosfear: Khufu the Mummy. I wonder if they will be able to find those.

god the amount of butthurt in the comments makes me so sad. They act like a game in the late 90's with vague rules, a video tape to tell you what to do, and more complicated rules than some modern games, was the perfect game

I feel like these guys hate on these games a bit too much. A lot of work went into these and they were doing something different. Just turning it into a joke and putting down any little thing the game is about or does is too much. If you're having fun shouldn't it be about that? But I guess they're only fun is to put it down instead of playing it with friends.

I absolutely love this game, and played it a lot growing up. Fond memories of jumping out of my skin at the thunderclaps and mapping out my keystone runs for each game, and all of the spooky theatrics. It was great! But, moments like 1:02:10 are why I kept playing it. That was great to watch, oh man.

Nightmare was silly. But my kids and I enjoyed Atmosfear. The race in the beginning. It seems less convoluted to play

I think this could've honestly worked Essentially; transform this game into a Mario Party battle royal, with the Gatekeeper acting as Bowser to pop in time to time to troll everyone. I really like the "numb-skulls" being the players, so why not lean into that Remove the turning into one of the host monsters mechanic, play as the numb-skulls thru out (paint em up to help not mix them up) Keep the customizable board, maybe give them a number so you can roll and randomly assign them Take out the ring road, and just have the players start on a head stone in the center of each map Remove the annoying "roll exactly" and "move only one direction" rules Replace duel cards with skill cards, like time/fate/chance kinda were Have them be the monsters theme and give the player abilities; like the vampires cards can steal another card, zombies can draw all players to one spot, ghost can skip to a space, etc (Could even have the monsters show up and tell the player to draw one of their cards) Go around the board, collect the different colored keys, keep the dueling but roll dice instead Keep the keystone giving you passive permanent powers Keep the fate cards and gates, and have that be Gatekeepers main way of trolling the players Take out the, soul ranger curfew and sewers mechanic

I like most of this alot, though I'd rather remove numbskulls all together because I like the Harbingers and their themed lands. I'd make a few more changes. 1. Gates should be more common as an ability. Two, you MUST move on your turn. (Makes blackholes more threatening again) Three, you can only hold 2-3 of a Keystone (This stops intentional spirals of doom by a player)

It was nostalgic and fun to watch this. Only downside is that having played the game a ton way back I wish they paid more attention to the rules and didn't occasionally ignore things because they can't be bothered to do it. "Oh the person in the lead has to return a key? Nah we won't do that"....THEN WHY ARE YOU EVEN PLAYING. He also clearly says "who's turn is it NEXT not who's turn is it now".

The fact that you can choose not to move really does make the black hole spaces less impactful. You'll only ever end up in the hole if the Gatekeeper sends you there.

When the gatekeeper asks whos turn is it next he means the person who goes after the player he just interrupted not the current players turn so if graham just started his turn when the gatekeeper asks who goes next that means the gatekeepers effect applies to the person that goes after graham
