In this video I'm going to recap some tips and tricks I used over the last year.
None of these tips and techniques are particularly difficult to implement and most don't really need a great deal of equipment but the results can really speak for themselves.
How to use studio flash / strobes / speed light / flash gun to light a photo art image on a table top.
Phase One XF iQ3 100MP Medium format camera used for studio sill life photography.
Studio photography lighting techniques for Still Life, Visual Art, Products.
Still life captured with flash / strobe / speedlight.
The laws of light and the physics of photography.
Lighting techniques to add interest to still life photography.
This is just a small selection from the videos I've produced in the past year.
Links to the full videos where you can find more details on how to achieve these sorts of results.

I will always repeat: Tony you are the best teacher on the net. Thanks to you I have had the opportunity to learn and discover a thousand techniques, and your videos are explained so well that even a "non-expert" like me can understand. Thank you very much, I hope to see new videos and learn many other tricks

I've binged 4 of your videos so far. You sir, are an excellent teacher AND presenter! SO many of these "How To" videos the presenter FLIES through the instructions making it damn near impossible for me to follow along.... Especially the Photoshop segments. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your style and presentation.... Not to mention CONTENT!

I am always overly impressed by your presentations and especially by the simplicity of your compositions yet effective photos. You are the only person on the internet who does not meander between confusing elements, hence resulting in well understood sessions.

Thank you for taking the time to produce this compressed series of techniques. I’ve admired your work for several years and have learned a lot about lighting from the videos. However, I’ve found myself fast forwarding quite often recently when you repeat the same information about cameras, settings, and post production in every episode. I understand your reasoning, but I’m looking for new information, if you follow my drift. This video was refreshing in that it presented your concepts and techniques in a more streamlined manner. You may have already shown how you achieved each image in the past, but this time around I found it more compelling. Again, thank you and best wishes for a great 2025!

thanks for the sinar bit, nice to see it being used for a closeup shot, pity it was a MF sensor, and not a Lomograflok (instax wide), or a film sheet shot, but, well done, could have added some selective focus as well 🙂... maybe next time?

Fab videos , Great ideas! Quick question if I may - does it help to be working in a dark room as your video ?

The right answer is sometimes...! The black drapes help control unwanted reflections, however it is sometimes convenient to bounce light of the walls and ceiling for omnidirectional effects. Thanks for watching.

Interesting video as always! i have a question. if i use a large format lens in 90mm for a 4x5 camera, how many millimeters would be on a 44x33mm digital sensor?
@CameraClubLive
@CameraClubLive Ай бұрын
The focal length of the lens will not change. The thing that changes is the angle of view. hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
@v.malinovsky
@v.malinovsky Ай бұрын
@@CameraClubLive I realize that, but I'd like to know roughly what the angle of view will be.

Hello from a slightly warmer (than where you are) Andalucia, and I wish you a happy New Year. I have a question, on the last example, where you shot the peony using a gobo, could the same (or at least a similar) effect be achieved by using a snoot on the light?
@CameraClubLive
@CameraClubLive Ай бұрын
If the snoot was of a similar size to the distance between the light and the gobo, about 40cm, then yes....! But in practice this would be very difficult to work with. Thanks for watching.
