Great to see you back. Good trick to use with those beast hooks is to pull out and extend the screw lock so that the coil is not so compressed as they are with the vanilla hook, that help with the screw ripping out from the plastic guite a bit.

Lunker city made muscle worm. I caught many large bass on these in past. I think they stopped producing them for awhile. Unique shape and action. Worth the google search. My only experience with lunker city was enjoyable 10 years ago.

Welcome back, good to see you again. Lotta nice baits there that I’ll be checking out including that last bluegill which I actually already have. Hoping you can do a review of large perch baits. I’m sorry on a small lake and there’s a blue gills the bass will hit but they annihilate perch. Looking for a good plastic perch or even a hard bait in a large category.

@KeepinItReelFishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have the Lowrence HDI-5...its from 3 or 4 years ago. They no longer make that exact model, but I think the "Hook" series is similar. Really....I would recommend the highest model you can afford. I think for what I paid for mine, which is a 5" and 2D sonar and down imagine, you can now get a 7" model with more features for the same price. Battery wise I use a Powersonic 12V battery (POWER-SONIC 12V 26AH PS-12260 PS-12260NB) They are marketed for UPS back up, but are just right for a sonar application on small craft. The 26ah is a good capacity that can get you through an entire day with power left. If you only go out for a few hours you might want a small size (and amp hour).

Hey great videos they are really insightful I’m ordering my first real swim bait set up for bigger stuff than I am used to I’ll be staying around 6” stuff at first except the hud Weedless shad 6.8 so the lakes and ponds I fish here in south Jersey are still full of weeds and grass I’m about to place my order tonight and I’m not sure about the line to buy I have the spider wire invisible braid 65 lbs test I don’t want to loose any baits and the little experience I have with Floro is 15 pounds n up it has crazy memory what would you suggest for a bigginer with hud 68 in sloppy lakes n ponds
@bassjunkie48814 жыл бұрын
Also the weight of this first batch of lures I’m getting is 1 thru 2 ounces and I am ordering the Daiwa DX 8 foot swim bait rod I love their reels so y not but should I get a heavy or medium heavy?
@KeepinItReelFishing4 жыл бұрын
Hey man - all excellent questions and I hope I can help steer you in a good direction. In terms of the line, that one is pretty easy. I would recommend 65lb braid going to a 20lb mono or copoly leader. If your going to be using these swimbaits in primarily heavy weeds then the leader isn't as critical, although I still like to use it. In clearer water I would def use the leader. Reason being many of these baits excel as slow speeds, and because of which (I believe) line clarity may play a larger role. I would recommend getting familiar with the Alberto knot. Its SUPER easy and quick to tie and in my 5 years or so of using it I think I had one failure (I dumbly didn't cinch it down all the way). Here it is from the man himself - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGaZgGZ5j7uoba8 Not only does it allow a little more peace of mind in terms of line clarity, but another huge factor is having some stretch in your system.....particularly in that moment when you get a GIANT close to the boat/shore. That leader may be the difference of your hook(s) staying planted vs tearing out. In terms of leaders I've used a ton.....I'd recommend Berkley Big Game, McCoy Ultra (Green or Clear), and P-Line CXX.

@@bassjunkie4881 Based on the weight of the lures your mentioning I would go with the MH. I've handed both it and the Heavy. The MH also has a good taper to it such that you can throw treble hook lures as well, which the Heavy is much more backbone and really for jig hook soft baits and weedless baits. Plus, you'll get a lot more distance casting on the MH.....with lures in the 1-2oz range it will load up well and give you good distance.
