I love these in depth chats and I enjoyed this one. What an awesome lady Sandra is. I don't know her, and never met her, but she worked hard for everything she has. A marriage made in heaven as well it seems with Alan. Keep these chats coming, they are brilliant. It's just such a shame we can't see these with some of the old greats no longer with us like Ivan Marks and Frank Barlow to name two of many, what chats they would have been.

Fabulous interview. Love that there is no “I” in team. Appreciates the contributions of everyone albeit she is a very talented individual herself. Wishing continued success to her and her teams.

Great podcast. Sandra clearly isn't just a fantastic angler, but also seems like a strong, driven individual who has created one of the most respected brands in the Angling industry. All, no doubt, whilst keeping things afloat at home whilst 5x was doing his thing...

Wouldn’t stand a chance of even getting in the team these days. Like all England representative squads and teams across all,disciplines it is a 100% CLOSED SHOP. It’s an utter disgrace, the sooner all England representative teams are selected via a fair and transparent qualification process the better for all.
@mg100563 күн бұрын
To imply the England teams aren't picked on ability is inaccurate. Squad members may not fish every day of every event, and team members are selected with the sole aim of trying to win / reach podium positions. Full Drennan sponsorship took the pressure off individuals raising funds to enter. It can cost a lot to participate nowadays. To suggest all teams representing England aren't picked to win, is ill informed.

@ you missed my point completely, the selection process and opportunities to fish as part of any England international team are restricted and limited. Look at any representative squad across all disciplines that was “selected” in 2024, 2023, 2022 and even further back. The number of new anglers is extremely low, and in some cases the squad doesn’t change from one year to the next, how can that be right, how can it be selected on ability as you suggest ? I could probably name the 2025 squads right now.
@mg100563 күн бұрын
@davidarmstrong5073 The age specific squads (U18, U21 etc) are trials based, as are vets. The seniors (mens float) have, for over 30 years been hand picked by managers (1-2) who know the abilities of many high calibre match anglers, having watched, analysed results etc prior to selection.
