I believe I saw an old school trick where this guy had a jar of water with a cup in it or something like that and he put it in a window or near sunlight at least and he would actually measure the barometric pressure each day. I believe he used dye also. But he would always know when the bites are good.

The hook and sinker strikes again . Question I have is a generally deeper lake do the fronts effect the fish as much ? A bunch of my bodies of water I fish are pretty deep overall. Awesome way to simplify this topic !!👊☁⛅☀
@TackleJunky814 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! Yes they do. Remember you increase by 1 ATM of pressure for every 10 m or ~33 ft once you submerge beneath sea level. So the deeper the fish the more pressure they are experiencing...this is why if you bring a fish up too quickly from 30+ feet they can experience the human equivalent of the bends. ~Mrs. TJ

Clearly Boyle never stubbed his toe. The pressure causes swelling thus the toe gets bigger. No inverse law involved. Just a hypothesis that you will hit that toe several more times. 🤬 On a serious note, more videos like this would be awesome. I'm former biotech so I geek out on stuff like this. Thanks for info! I've done the same: cloudy, fish shallower and faster, sunny, deeper and slower, but I attributed that to light sensitivity only. Your info seems to support the same theory for another reason. 1 question: Barometric pressure is obviously affecting air, but from what you say, barometric pressure has same impact in water, is that correct? Disclaimer: I was an English teacher/ football coach, and only started taking interest in science when I knew it affected my fishing!
@TackleJunky814 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment!! Yes, barometric pressure is the atmospheric pressure pushing down on us at any given time due to gravitational pull as measured by a barometer. When you look at fluid, you look at hydrostatic pressure which is the pressure exerted on a column of fluid, this includes the barometric pressure being exerted outside of the water. So, yes, atmospheric pressure affects the hydrostatic pressure that fish feel. ~Mrs. TJ
