The spirit is the most important thing behind the crown and should always be. A love for his people, not for money or power but his people. This spirit should lead him even when he is understood by no one, as long as he benefits his people he will continue with his path. He must be able to constructively criticize his people if it will lead to their progress. What this spirit is not about is just saying what massages his peoples' ego, especially if it is to the detriment of his people!!!!

what he mean was only god is the king, he was just a messenger representative of god in order to safe, provide and help is people. which i think all king in nigeria are lacking.

A Nigerian-British artist has already worked using Nigerian fabrics in making suits. Yinka Shonibare is reputed for using Nigerian fabrics in making English dresses. Kabieesi's idea is welcome. But it is odd to Yoruba culture and unacceptable now for Kabieesi to wear suit on the throne. It does not represent us. Kabieesi is the custodian of our cultural identity. He may suit outside his stool or domain on a casual bases. Kabieesi may wear anything when not on his stool. We would not expect Kabieesi to wear agbada to gym.

Kabiyesi How will your new Queen Olori who is African/American communicate with her subjects majority of whom are illiterate

Maybe I misunderstand but it seems apples are being compared to oranges. Wearing of traditional clothes can never be equated to suffering or the use or lack thereof guns. Oba is entitled to his opinion but perhaps he should rethink it for the sake of the great traditional culture of the Yoruba!!
