Instead of deleting the books you unhaul, you might want to create a column for "unhauled". That would allow you to make a tally at the end of the year/project to see how many books left your shelves!

This sounds like it's going to be a fun project! And let me say, that spreadsheet is a masterpiece! I loved the way this turned out and how much you were able to accomplish. As a 37 y/o who also has *loved* mid-grade in the past, I am finding it harder to enjoy some of the stories but much like you are able to look at them through your sisters, I try to look at them through my nieces and how I think they would enjoy them. As for future episodes of this series, as much as I love chaos, I think it's worth mentioning that if you hit midgrade again for episode two, I for one am 100% okay with a re-roll. I feel like forcing yourself to read a bunch of mid-grade back to back is going to make you like the books less. I think we all get that way, even with genre's were super into.

The cool thing about unhauling books and giving them to family, is you still have the option of reading them later if you want to. I like to think of my sister's bookshelves as a remote section of my own library :P

I'm doing something similar right now, and i think limiting what i can read strictly to only what i already own has taught me how many books i pick up on a whim with actual 0 interest in reading them and that I'm just never gonna be in the mood for them and should let go

I try to do a similar project every year by reading a book off of every shelf in my house. If you are ever willing to share a template for your spreadsheet I would LOVE to use it to help my own project. But I love this video I can’t want to see more of these!

Maybe to help mix up the books a bit you could, instead of reading one shelf to completion, roll to read from two shelves and then read half the unread books on each shelf in one video so you get more of a variety of books. Or even go systematically down a bookcase for each video and grab a single book from each shelf to make up your tbr. Just some ideas in case it gets monotonous reading too many similar books in a row! But really cool idea to get the unread book count down. Might try something similar myself as I have the same issue on my shelves!

I adore this series already! Great start. The part where you look at the shelf after reading even if you haven't read anything to see what to unhaul is a nice addition. I saw the Anya books on the shelf and was like I got that because of you! Glad you found some keepers on the shelf. Excited for the next episode! 😊 Also, I love the spreadsheet!! I love this series and can't wait to see more! I might try something similar, though my TBR shelves are not sorted and are 10' long each, so I'd have to make some artificial "stop points" to make the random numbers work a bit better. Love it! And kudos for letting books go. You can always print out those book covers and use them as art! I've done that with a few books that were a bit delicate and I wanted to pack away, so maybe?

You know what, Jade? You have a lot more books on your owned tbr than I do but I feel like you would be able to get through more books than me in a shorter period. I just started a new book and gave up on another one, so 2 fewer than I had before (I think I have 37 books minus the new one I started yesterday) but I think you might be able to get through 37 books before I got through all of mine. LOL I don't have the ability to bring myself to read all day every day so it's harder for me to get through physical books but I was able to get through my last book in 3 days so I need more days like those... Can we test out my theory this year? LOL I'm working on trying to read more of my books instead of looking through KZbin videos al day but sometimes I get bored and go back to YT and get lost in these videos.
