Tackling The Garth Hill Cardiff - Trail Run With My 11 Year Old

Just on the outskirts of Cardiff is a mountain called the Garth Hill. It stands at around 307 m (1,007 ft) so it qualifies as a mountain.
I do a lot of my training around here and it is a stunning place to run.
My 11-year-old comes trail running with me but we have never taken on the Garth Hill together....until now.
This was a great experience for him and he really got stuck in, we had to walk the steep hills and it was challenging in parts for him but he worked hard and we had some great fun.
If you live in the city of Cardiff then I highly recommend coming up to the Garth where you get some fantastic views including Pen Y Fan on a clear day and across the water onto the North Somerset coast, it is a stunning place to hike and run.
If you are looking to get your kids fit then trail running is a brilliant activity, they will have loads of fun navigating around rocks, roots, puddles etc and it is lovely bonding time together.
