This is a taste test/review of the OMCheese, Crispy Taco, Taco Bravo and Potato Olés from Taco John’s.
Crispy Taco - A fresh Crispy Corn Shell, filled with our signature Seasoned Ground Beef, Mild Sauce, Lettuce and Cheddar Cheese.
Potato Olés - Crispy Potato Rounds. Cooked hot and fresh, sprinkled with our signature Bold Spices. Complete your flavor experience by dipping them into Nacho Cheese, Sour Cream, or Guacamole.
OMCheese Quesadilla Taco - Melty, cheesy quesadilla shell, filled with grilled all-white meat chicken, Fiesta sauce, lettuce and Pico. Here for a limited time!
Taco Bravo - A warm Flour Tortilla smothered in Refried Beans wrapped around a Crispy Corn Shell filled with our signature Seasoned Ground Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Mild Sauce and Lettuce. Topped off with Diced Tomatoes.

No joke, I'm eating Taco John's while I watched that! They're all over the upper middle of the country, as they are based in Wyoming. One of my top 5 favorite fast food places and I prefer them over Taco Bell but Taco Bell is usually a better value. I'm betting they forgot to season your Oles. I've had that happen. There should definitely be a seasoned flavor, almost like Lawry's Seasoned Salt with chili powder and cumin. Hope you can make it back because the Potato Oles, when done right, are amazing. I also recommend the Meat & Potato burrito. That's usually my go-to there and it will fill you up!

There used to be a Taco John's in Southridge Mall here. Haven't been to that mall since 2021, so don't know if it's still there. Might be worth a stop if it is. Thank you Kevin.

I didn't know they had expanded to Kentucky, I wish they would into the upstate of South Carolina We only have TacoBell and just a couple of Del Tacos in middle of the state. Those Taco Bell fries with the seasoning are really good.

Used to go to Taco John's every Sunday after work to get their 2 breakfast burrito deal. Went one day next day it was closed and turned into a Starbucks. There wss no warning it was going to be closed. I do miss it. I only went for breakfast because I really liked their breakfast burritos

That is crazy! I wonder if they had inspection problems. In my town, two places closed suddenly; seemingly no warning - nothing. I found out later it was because of repeated code violations and I didn't know anything about it. It took awhile playing around on the internet to even find out about it and why! I guess I dodged a bullet, but was still kind of sad. The food was good and it was another choice with a very large menu to choose from (alternative to chains and fast food). Oh well! I wonder if that is what happened with your Taco John's?

Darn those apps. I am not a big app person, so I would be kind of peeved but I understand it is a thing. I feel bad for you because that price difference seemed significant! I have a Taco John's in my area. I remember it from when I lived here before (I moved back to Central IL in 2022 after about 18 years away!). I always thought it was a local place, a college town place! I had never seen it anywhere else. I guess it is a chain. Looks like a "cleaner" looking Taco Bell in that they seem to put their foods together better and more neatly, whereas Taco Bell is a hot mess on a good day. LOL

Taco John's started in the late 60's and trademarked the phrase "Taco Tuesday" in the late '80s . Which they had until Taco Bell sued for them to abandon that trademark.

the original version of the potato oles they were a ball shape with a little taco meat in the middle, though apparently nobody I talked to remembers.

I tend to go for a soft taco, but I do like a good crispy taco. I love a Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I don't have a Taco John's in my area, so Taco Bell it is, but all of these sound really good. Great review Kevin!
