However, for both parties to insist they were *never* friends is such wholesale horseshit, and you can prove it by watching or listening to any content they did together from their early WNEW days up to about the early-mid-2000s (say, 2003). At first they used to giggle together and sigh/fawn all over each other like schoolkids on a date, it's there on tape and on video available in the public domain for anyone who cares to find it. The most annoying and pathetic part is the blatant lies they tell that contravene hard evidence.

I find Kevin kind of annoying here. He keeps bringing up this marriage and divorce analogy about how Ant and Opie had enough money and realized they didn’t need each other anymore but it’s just inaccurate. Ant has said multiple times that he had no desire to leave the show, split the show, or end the show. He said that even though he and Opie didn’t talk or get along as friends outside of work, he was more than willing to continue working if he hadn’t been fired. As for Opie, I always found the whole “Anthony was doing some really shady things behind the scenes” to be such a weak move on his part. He never spoke on these “shady things” but he implied they were pretty much criminal when he would say “I’ve been asked not to talk about it” during his fight with Jimmy.

Out of all the regulars, opie was always the weakest link. And he always falls back on, 'I started the show'. And that's pretty true, but no one listens to a radio show because of who STARTED it, people listen to be entertained, and obviously Ant and Jimmy and Patrice and Rich and Colin and the rest, they carried the show, they entertained everyone. He just cannot face these facts and admit he was the weakest entertainer there and therefore he remains stuck.............fighting, to protect his ego. Imo

It's sad seeing Opie continue to let his ego and what others think of him completely control his life. He gets tons of hate but the times he was actually himself and felt part of the group he was funny if when he wasn't before he decided to sabotage himself he knew exactly how to drive the show. Just because he wasn't getting the laughs like ant and Jim he felt he wasn't in the group. Seems like a miserable way to live

Opie started to feel like he wasn't part of the show when Anthony started to broadcast from his compound and didn't invite him to join him. It was obvious to anyone listening that Anthony was going to be going his own way soon.

In fairness to Opie, he was gaslit, bullied and used by people around him. His own naivete and insecurity as much as any Ego blinded him to this. It's why I wonder if Opie could be autistic, as he has a profound childlike trusting side to his nature that seems to attract grifters and users trying to manipulate him for personal gain.

Well Opster, you have had all this time to showcase you amazing talent that has been held back just champing at the bit to let all your repressed talent and all the material you must have saved up, you should be making a huge impact on the oo the podcast workd, but you have done absolutely nothing, you can be totally unfettered by any sidekick you have been forced to work with and no bosses having any control or say about anything at all you do! But it's the constant complaining about Anthony and Jimmy took poor advantage of him and ganged up him. Your story is always changing, thank God you have not recorded it all and have all your contradiction and telling the same incident over and over and it always changing to fit his Delusional. Yeah thankfully it's not all been documented so you and everyone else can go through it all and everyone seeing what a lying delusional victim you are and All that stuff you have been saving about Anthony has been reported by all the new people who he has come in contact with can back up all your claims about how Anthony is, yet no one ever has he must have them all terrified of him and he has them all black mailed!
