In timeframe 4:34 the Vini-Mendy partnership would have been easily countered in the match by adding a midfielder(the Athleti man ON no.15 of REAL) to help Athleti winger and rightback against Vini-Mendy, and as no.15 OF REAL was the only man in advanced midfield position for REAL, the marker of Fede Valverde(the Athleti left winger) should have pushed in the midfield with the Athleti leftback on Fede Valv, and HENCE create a man advantage in left side of the pitch for Athleti, and by shifting their 4-4-2 block on that side, Athleti would have compressed REAL on that side preventing any DIRECT switch of play to the left side and hence leaving CARVAJAL free on left side was no harm for Athleti

Zizou once again showed his tactical flexibility. He has beaten Atletico twice in 3 weeks with playing only 1 attacker. But this win was more crucial and important in the title race. 2nd half introduction of Vinicius and Vazquez made us to play in our own way, with wingers having more freedom and strecthing up the fullbacks. That was exactly how the only goal was scored. Vinicius took RB with him and played a killer pass to Mendy, who gave an assist to Benzema’s goal. I can’t wait to see how Eden will contribute to this system of Zidane. Hala Madrid ⚪️⚪️⚪️

@@hanklesacks No I think Real Madrid clearly misses Hazard. they are impressive defensively and able to salvage 1 goal victories. But their offence is not impressive in any way. Hazard is the missing piece in the team. Last few matches before Hazard was injured, you could see Madrid clearly depended on hazards dribbling and creativity. They played Hazard anytime possible. So yeah, Hazard does matter.

People are saying Kroos was bad thats why taken off while he created 2 good chances and was probably best player in first half. Was taken out probably because he played previous two matches. Also Isco was taken out because he can't play in 3 man midfield.

Isco slows down counterattack all the time, I am fed up with that guy, besides he's got the belly of a drunkard. Isco should only play when the team needs to cool down the game in a 1-0 score.

Easy to say. But following Atleti for 2 Decades theres not many unique individual suitable enough to be able to channel the passion and energy of Atleti and their fans to this height like Simeone did. The problem is I guarantee that what grit determination and most important of all solidity that Atleti has demonstrated will go away with Simeone if he leaves and Atleti will return back to their old usual self where they will score 3 goals but let in 4 in a game. I've enough being through that for a decade. For Atleti Club is bigger than Any Ballon D ors.

No Brainer actually, Atleti was always winning balls in the mid inspite of any tactical changes by both team until real broke the deadlock for the lead. From there on nothing is unexpected from a team registering less than a goal per game while real's personality is always getting confident and bolder when they got the lead. It's the lack of depth and loss of numerous key players like Gimenez, Koke, J.Felix and Costa to injury that made this final scoreline something Not unexpected of although Atleti pressed valiantly for the equaliser in the final 10 minutes but it was inadequate and too late because they have not been scoring and have no other left option after Cavani's immanent transfer fell through at the final day. Atleti couldn't do enough today.
