Watched this video on the way to the lake today , already had the duh spoon tied on , and I’m really close to where I think you were , needless to say my brother and I absolutely smoked em on the spoons today . 2-3lb spots all day . Thanks for the tips for the heavier setup. I used my 7 4 heavy with 20 lb line and absolutely cranked those spots and boat flipped all day. What a blast !! Not often you get to power fish for spotted bass. Thanks for the confidence TB FAM 🤘

On your lure retriever, my Dad had a good idea. I've got one similar to that but the rope is a struggle to keep from getting tangled up in the boat. He suggested buying some cheap 80 or 90 lb braid and putting it on one of our old retired spin cast reels. Don't need a rod with it just enough of a handle to hold on to. Pull the two out hook it on the line and drop it reel it back in.
@tacticalbassinАй бұрын
That will work really well. I've experimented with that, and I have a smaller device I use that way. I just use the giant rope so I don't lose the retriever as well (I've done it twice)

It would be really cool if you guys partnered with R2S again and designed like a shallower diving winter speed crank, kinda like you did with Hog Farmer and the three different A-rig sizes. I’ve tried speed cranking on my home water with the Tactical crank but it just dives too deep too quickly and I feel like I’m grinding the lip down unnecessarily. Just a thought.
@marioortiz7264Ай бұрын
I agree I speed crank ponds in the winter time it’s so useful. Try using the evergreen piccolo I’ve had success speed cranking it in the ponds I fish. Great components but sometimes doesn’t run straight
@richardkeller6940Ай бұрын
How the heck do you crank in ponds ? They are usually full of grass and moss? Thanks
@300hikerАй бұрын
I think they addressed that in a video about speed cranking. They recommended lures like rock crawlers for shallower water.

What about the Luhr Jensen crippled herring 3/4oz? I use to use those in the salt out here on the west coast in SoCal when I lived down there I thought it would be a good spoon to use up here (of course I replaced the single siwash hook with a feathered treble). Thanks Robert. Oohh btw; I bought a toothy fish retriever a couple years ago and it has saved me soo much on just my cranks and swimbaits, it has paid for itself 2x over ! Great call on that for jigging spoons! I have mine tied to 50# Dacron Rock Cod line and an old saltwater reel.
@tacticalbassin29 күн бұрын
I haven't tried the crippled herring in freshwater. The only potential issue is that salmon spoons tend not to flutter much at all so if that's the case, it may not be your best choice. Just flip it in clear water and check the Fall.

@tacticalbassinАй бұрын
Would you believe I didn't lose a single spoon? It all depends on the bottom composition and these coves were mostly a mud bottom.
@richardkeller6940Ай бұрын
Oh good!
@chrisfoley3320Ай бұрын
When you are speed cranking,is your bait contacting with the bottom or coming thru open water.
@tacticalbassinАй бұрын
The simple answer is both. Sometimes it's hitting, but we're not afraid to crank completely open water either. The burn, burn, burn, pause retrieve creates its own reaction bites even when you're not deflecting off bottom.
